Up for sale is my 2000 Ford Explorer. We bought this vehicle five years ago with 133K miles and have since put almost 100k on it (just under 229000 on the odometer now) with no serious issues. It has been a dependable daily driver with frequent (sometimes daily) trips from Rockford to Chicago. It has seen weekends towing a boat or a trailer with ATVs, never anything very heavy. We're purchasing a new vehicle and this one is no longer needed. The vehicle was rear-ended last winter while stopped at a stop light (low speed) and there was no damage found by the insurance company or body shop otherwise there is no accident history. Kelly brand Safari tires are about two years old with decent tread. Regular oil changes have been performed. Transfer case was replaced with a used one about three years ago. The original transfer case will be included if the buyer wants it (works but stuck in 4 wheel). New plugs, wires and ignition coil pack were replaced about a year ago. This vehicle is mechanically sound as far as I know and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. The only glitch is the compressor for the rear air shocks which has started to work only intermittently. This doesn't affect driving but may need to be replaced if the vehicle is going to be used for towing anything heavy (check suspension light comes on because of this). Otherwise no warning lights or check engine light on. The tachometer sometimes sticks but a gentle tap on the instrument cluster frees it. The body is in pretty good shape with some small dents and dings and rust spots here and there the worst of which is on the back of the vehicle where my boat rolled into it. Still looks pretty good but nowhere near mint. The interior is in good shape with no rips or tears in the leather seats. Heated seats are nice in the winter. The stock head unit was replaced with a Sony because the display went out in the stock unit. The stereo sounds great and the factory unit is included if the buyer wants to put it back in. The center console arm rest has some cracks from age. All of the electronics work as far as the gauges, driver information center, compass - outside temp. All of the interior lights work as well as the exterior lights. This is a good running and looking vehicle for its age and mileage. It would make a good daily driver, first vehicle or work vehicle. I have a clear, clean Illinois title in hand. I will accept cash when the vehicle is picked up. Although I've tried to describe the vehicle to the best of my ability, I highly suggest coming by and looking at the vehicle BEFORE bidding.
