Vehicle Detail
This is a very good running 1973 Honda CB450. There are no leaks, smoke, or abnormal noises. When I got it I tore the engine down untill every last nut and bolt and component was removed. Everything was cleaned and measured for wear. Anything that did not meet specs was replaced. I lapped the valves until I had a good tight seal and replaced the valve guide seals. The air filters on this bike are the OEM ones and are in very good condition. The carbs were tore down, cleaned, and adjusted. There are a few nicks, dings, and scratches on the tank, I tried to show them in the pictures. One of the dings on the right side of the fuel tank is from the right turn steering stem stop being broken. I tore down the forks, cleaned them and then replaced the fork seals and installed new fork fluid along with new rubber fork boots. The front brake pads were replaced and the fluid changed. The rear brakes were still within specs so they were reinstalled. The fuel tank has been coated, and the fuel petcock filter replaced along with new fuel lines. I replaced the rear tire, it looks small for the bike but is the correct tire size. The front tire is barely worn so I didn't change it. The battery is new as is the chain and front chain sprocket. The original owners manual and tool kit are included with the exception of the flat tip screwdriver. There is surface rust on some of the chrome, most of it from someone trying to change the tires themselves. All electrical components work. The bike can be started with either the electric or kick start. The seat has been recovered using a beautiful green top to match the tank. Sometimes there is a slight popping noise from the left exhaust in the first 10 seconds of the bike being started but then goes away. The bike may not be the prettiest CB450 out there but it will be able to keep up with the best of them. Drop it into 4th gear and it excellerates very well going up hill. After sitting for two weeks while I was on vacation I turned the fuel and choke on and after the second kick on the kick start it fired right up. I sometimes take this bike out on a 125 mile round trip to visit family and it is a very comfortable ride. I can not deliver so you will have to pick it up.
