Vehicle Detail

Beautiful 1971 Jeep CJ5 in it's original condition with the exception of a handful of cosmetic modifications. The vehicle is in excellent shape as the pictures show. My family has owned the vehicle since 2004 when my dad purchased it from a guy near Canadian, TX where it had been garage kept for several years. He said that it had become too hard for him to get in and out of when cruising around his farm. I don't have specific evidence that the mileage is correct, but I know it is from 2004 and you can tell from the condition of the Jeep that there's no reason to doubt its authenticity. Now about the Jeep... The paint and body is in really good shape with the exception of a few minor bumps and bruises that I've documented in the photos. The tires are 9.5 x 30's on 15 inch 8 spoke wheels...they have about 75% tread left on them. I have put some custom shackles to lift it up about 3/4 of an inch, however I still have the original shackles if you want to replace them. The front bumper has a tow bar attachment and the rear bumper was just recently added. It is mounted on the rear angle iron/bumper so it can go back to original look in a flash. I also have the original trailer hitch that bolts on, the side steps, and gas can holder w/ fuel can. The seats are new, along with the red-top Optima battery. The bikini top is new also. The motor is 225 Dauntless V6 with tons of torque. The jeep drives great down the road on these tires. I've had 33" tires on in the past, however, I didn't like the way it traveled down the highway and there was a little road walking, plus without power brakes, it was harder to stop. The jeep starts up every time, even in extremely cold conditions. The transmission and 4WD works as they should. This thing has been babied for the last 9 years for sure, and you can tell from it's condition that it's never been abused. I love this jeep, but being 6'3" it is too hard for me drive and truly enjoy. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, as it is for sale locally as well. There is no warranty and local pickup only. You may contact me at denzil@okiemacs.com with questions or for more specific pics. On May-13-13 at 10:35:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional pictures have been posted at http://www.okiemacs.com. These were taken back in February before the roll bar and bumper were painted. They also show how the rear bumper was fabricated. On May-15-13 at 12:35:03 PDT, seller added the following information: A handful of folks have emailed me various questions. Here are some answers: The paint is original and there doesn't appear to be any parts of the body that has been repaired or bondo-ed. Yes, there is a crack in the windshield. The pictures are pretty good quality so you can zoom in and see more detail. There is NO rust anywhere on the body or frame that has eaten through any of the metal. It is all very minor as seen in the pics.
