Vehicle Detail
I have for bids a 1965 Chevelle SS. This is an original SS. This Car had a Frame off restoration. This Car was stripped including the Interior, Fenders, Doors, Hood, Trunk Lid, Axle, Shocks, Steering, Brakes, etc. The Engine was removed, taken apart and inspected for any worn parts and reassembled. The 2 Speed Transmission was disassembled and checked for worn parts and reassembled. It has been painted about 3 1/2 years. This Car was in storage since 1989 and when I bought this car 4 years ago it was completely torn down at that time. That is when I decided to do the restoration. The Frame was Bead Blasted, Primed and Painted. The undercarriage was Bead Blasted, primed and Painted. The Doors, Hood, Trunk Lid and Fenders were Bead Blasted, Primed and Painted. I installed some "New" Chrome where needed. It has Front Disk Brakes & the Original Power Steering. I installed all "New" Seats, Carpet and Head Liner. The Interior was also painted. It has the Original Gauges which work. It has the Original Radio which works. It has the Original Console and 2 speed shifter. It has the Original Clock but it does not work. It has Factory Air Conditioning but it stopped working last summer. It was checked and it has a pinhole in the line under the Passenger Fender. Their is a weld seam going across the Trunk Floor about 3 inches above the floor. This was done before I bought the Car. I do not know why because the Truck Floor looks original. I drove this car approximately 400 miles in the past year. The Speedometer is the original for this car and has not been tampered with since I have owned it. I believe it to be the original mileage since it was in storage for a long time. This Car might not be perfect but it is a lot nicer then 95% of the Cars that I see for sale that are selling for a lot more than what I am asking. I am selling this Car "ONLY" because my Wife has health issues and this is what made me decide to see it. Besides this I am well past retirement age and my wife and I do not go to many shows anymore. This is NOT a must sell so if I do not get a "Reasonable" price it will stay where it is. Please call me at 1-717-586-1989 for any questions or if you want to see it. I do not answer emails or text messages. thanks for looking. I am sure I have overlooked something but it is not intentional. Please come and look at the Car and decide if this is what you want. I will not say what the reserve is because it is not fair to the next bidder.. If you come and look at it and make a reasonable offer it will be sold. On May-08-13 at 08:37:53 PDT, seller added the following information: The first 7 digits of the title are 1 38 37 5 A which makes it an original 1965 Chevelle Sport coupe SS. On May-08-13 at 11:50:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I pulled up the Rubber Mat from the Trunk and checked out the Weld closer. I am not sure if the Trunk Floor was replaced or not. To me it does but if it was it was a good job. It does not appear to be pieced together, but maybe the whole Floor. If that makes sense. Here are some more pictures of the Trunk. I think it was a bad idea to put a Rubber Mat on the Trunk Floor because it looks like moisture was trapped under the Rubber Mat (surface rust only). I do not want a potential buyer to come and look at the Car and get any surprises. I still think this car will stand up to any $40,000.00 Car on the market. Sorry about not seeing this sooner. On May-12-13 at 08:07:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have more pictures and information. The original 1965 Chevelle Brochure, the build Book and the "1965 Ammon R. Smith" Brochure from York,Pa. will be included. I forgot to mention that the Door Hinges have no slop and the Doors shut tight like they should with no rattles when you drive down the road. The Doors, Hood and Trunk Lid gap fit like they should. Look at the pictures of the undercarriage and you will see that everything is painted and looks clean with no rust. You can look down the sides of this car and you will not find any waves or wrinkles. Bring your MAGNET along when you come to look at the Car and see if you can find any Body Filler in this car except for maybe a skim coat which you cannot pick up with a Magnet. If you are looking for a Dream Car you will make a mistake if you do not bid on this car. I bought this car because I intended to keep it. I did not buy it to resell and try to make money but because of my wife's Health problems I am going to sell it. I have decided to let you Bidders & potential bidders know that the reserve is $21,000.00 but depending on the final bid if it does not reach that amount I will be negotiable on a reasonable offer. I have been offered $17,500.00 already so if you do not think this car is worth more than that then do not waste your time bidding. Thanks for looking.
