Vehicle Detail
This nomad is from my 93 year old late great uncle's estate. The reserve is set about 10 grand lower than my best offers over the last year, which means its at about half the value of the car in my opinion. He said he gave it a repaint, rebuilt drivetrain, and new interior about 15 years ago. Since then he only drove the car a couple times, and always kept it indoors. He said he kept everything original. When he passed away in the fall of 2011 we pulled it out of his museum, brought it to town and cleaned it up, flushed the fuel system, rebuilt the carb, and its now in running driving condition. The engine is a very strong 283 with FC block code, a 4 barrel carb and powerglide transmission. Its a happy motor, impresive torque. The transmission shifts nice and works correctly, but has a front seal leak. The factory fuel line and clips are on the outside of the frame and from what I remember that is only on a factory dual exhaust car. The tires are flat spotted from sitting, and the car could use an alignment/front end work. We only put a few test miles on it, and it ran excellent, the brakes work nice and effortless, but the steering was a little off. The interior is very nice with little to no use. The fuel gauge only works sometimes, the speedometer works fine, and all lights, turn signals, and wipers work. The radio doesnt work. The drivers door armrest is trying to work free, may need a new screw, etc. The paint is nice, but not show quality, as it was done by an elderly man in a less than perfect workshop. The sheetmetal all appears solid. I found no rot in the frame or floors. I found signs in the passenger side wheelhouse that the quarter panel was replaced. Overall its a very nice original driver. I dont know the complete story of this car, I didnt get a chance to talk with him about it before he passed away. Im describing what I remember hearing about it, combined with what I see myself, thats it. If you have any doubts, feel free to contact me to set up a time to view the car and go for a ride.
