My son and I are putting our 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Gold, equipped with automatic transmission and Momo wheels, up for sale. The California registration is paid through October 2013. HISTORY -When we purchased the car, a little more than a year ago, we wrote to the "Centro documentazione Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo. We learned that our car, chassis number ZAR162B3002250994 is, in fact, a 75 Milano Quadrifoglio Oro automatic (type 161400) - 2.5 L engine, black (nero pastello) with velvet interior, and that it was built at the legendary Alfa Romeo plant in Arese, Italy, on January 14, 1988, and sold on October 13, 1988, in Pensacola, Florida. The car has spent most of its life in California. At some point, rather early in its life, the car was involved in an accident, and got a salvage title. In spite of that, it has given years of good service and enjoyment to its owners. Early last year, we found this Alfa Milano Automatic on eBay and fell in love with it. Now, after spending some money on its restoration, my wife has insisted that we finish our other classic Alfa Romeo project, so we decided, reluctantly, to let some other "Alfista" enjoy this car. CONDITION: EXTERIOR/INTERIOR - is in very presentable condition. The 15 "Momo wheels are particularly desirable. The tires are fairly new. The paint is old. It has been touched up but it presents some fading consistant with its age (25 years). There are some scratches here and there but nothing major. The car is solid. The California weather has helped to prevent rust, but the sunshine has caused some fading to the upholstery and some damage to the top of the dashboard. We have never tried to open the electric sunroof. The original ceiling is sagging and needs to be reglued. There is no radio because, quite frankly, we prefer to hear the sound of the V6 Alfa Romeo engine. MECHANICALLY - The car drives very well. We have driven the car almost 5000 miles since we purchased it. During that time, we concentrated our efforts in making this Alfa as reliable as possible. All work on the car has been done by well known and reliable Alfa Romeo workshops, using original Alfa parts, supplied by International Auto Parts and others.We had done both necessary and preventive maintenance including the replacement of the following: - timing belt, water pump, tensioner, thermostat, and various belts, - rear brake pads, - De Dion bushings, inner and outer tie rods, rear Watts linkage bushings, - rear springs with used springs of the Milano Verde, - cable and hood release, - shifter cables If you have any questions or need more photos please contact us through eBay .We have set our reserve price very low. Our loss is your gain. Though our Alfa Romeo Milano Gold has received a lot of mechanical attention, please bear in mind that it is still a 25 year old car. We would not advise the new owner to drive the car across country. PAYMENT - A Paypal deposit of $500 is due at the end of the auction. The remainder of sale price is due seven (7) days after the end of the auction. Payment may be by cash, cashier's check, or by wire transfer to the seller's bank. The buyer pays all vehicle shipping and registration fees. The California registration is valid until October 2013
