Vehicle Detail

I am selling my father-in-law's BMW 328iC. His health won't allow him to drive anymore, and so it's time for the car to go to someone else who will enjoy it. It has 133,000 miles, and an automatic transmission. Strong engine and trans--no funny noises or jerky shifts. Runs smooth with plenty of power. The ride is also good--tracks straight with no rattles or shaking in the suspension components. No rust, and no signs of any accidents. The automatic top is currently not working, and one of the rear windows is also not working--it is stuck partially lowered. I had the top (and the rest of the car) inspected by a mechanic, and he quoted $1300 to fix ($600 for the window regulator and $700 for the lid). I've been told this might be a high estimate of the actual cost, but I am not an expert on these cars, so use your best judgement. He also noted some other minor issues, none of which need immediate attention (small cam gasket & oil pan gasket leaks, steering bushings are getting worn--but still good). I have a record/receipt of this inspection. There are a couple of minor flaws in the seats--the seams on the back seat tops and the driver's side bolster are starting to separate. We got a quote for $200 to fix. The airbag light is also always on--I've been told that this is a common issue with these cars, and that it is caused by a sensor failure. The interior a-pillar cover has been removed, as the spring clip that holds it to the body had broken. Used replacements can be had for around $30. Otherwise, everything seems to be right about the car. I don't have details of recent maintenance due to my father-in-law's condition, but when he drove it regularly he was meticulous about maintaining the car well. Please note that because of this, I cannot in any way guarantee the condition of the car, other than the inspection I had performed at Quality Motors, an independent BMW mechanic in the area. That said, it seems like a pretty solid car that needs a couple of items fixed in order to be a great car. I would do this myself, but I have two other project cars in-process right now and just don't have the space or time to deal with it. I have a clear title in hand for cash buyer--I'd prefer not to deal with a certified/cashier's check, but if absolutely necessary I will (please don't be offended if I call to check on the validity of the check first). If you have any questions, please ask and I will do my best to answer them. On Apr-20-13 at 13:28:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I am selling my father-in-law's BMW 328iC. It works--it's not super ice cold, but consistent with other European cars of that era it blows 'cool'. It gets the job done. I also have one correction to make, regarding the seats: The seats ARE heated--I didn't know the location of the controls, or what the symbol meant, but they are in fact heated. Sorry for the confusion.
