Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1980 4.2L, 4 speed, Jeep CJ7 mainly because I have too many toys, but also because I am in need of extra cash for a down payment towards a house. It is a hard decision because I do love it and it has treated me very well in the time that I have owned it. This Jeep was used as a north Texas farm vehicle for 25 years. It has been taken care of and garage kept ever since. It only has 37200 original miles on it. Motor & the transmission both run excellent, with a new clutch assembly. Transfer case works great, and the gearing on it is incredible, don’t even have to rev the engine up before it starts to dig in and get going. I’ve never even have had to use the 4low, but have tried it just for the heck of it and believe me when I say that it is set up like a champ. One hit of the ignition switch and it starts right up with no hesitation. All of the gauges work, except for the blinkers that don’t flash. The Jeep is very reliable whether at the beach or around town. It has a fully rebuilt radiator so it doesn't ever overheat in the hot summer days. Complete new brake system with stainless steel lines. Added tilt steering column, upgraded steering shaft, and added power steering with no play at all. All new steering components and new shocks make it drive as great as it looks. Not 100% sure on how big of a suspension lift it ha, but as you can see it stands high and easily fits the 33x13.50-15 Super Swampers which have less than 500 miles on them and on the Pro Comp 15x10 wheels. The spare tire is used but still in great shape to get you out of a bind if in case you were ever in one. It has a Warn 9000i winch complete with remote with 9,000lbs of pulling power and an ultra heavy duty bumper with the bumper being 1/4" steel and the base being 5/16" steel, fully welded. Both front bucket seats are in excellent shape with no tears or damage to them, just some stains of the undercoating that I couldn’t take off. The rear seat is also in great shape, but it does have some minor rips on the back side seams which can be taken care of by any upholstery shop or yourself. I replaced the standard bar with the upgraded later model family bar with speakers and lights. It also has the upgraded later model front and back seat belts, but I never got around to buying the front female part of the buckles only the rear. I also have the standard bar available in great shape in case buyer wants to keep it original. The Bestop soft top is in overall great shape with just some minor rips as shown, and I also have the Bestop bikini top for the standard bar in excellent condition. C/D player with AM/FM stereo is tucked under the Tuffy lock box which makes it very convenient and safe. The Jeep has been primed, sealed and treated with undercoat both inside and out with no metal left untreated. Parts alone add up to around $5,000 and you just can't find a 1980 CJ7 for less than $3,000 in this kind of condition so someone is going to make out like a bandit with this one. One trip to the beach with this Jeep and you'll be in love. Inspection is good until Feb of 2014 and registration is up to date as well. With just a few details, as described above, this CJ7 can truly be a daily driver or a trophy winner, depending which way you go. A truly great looking classic Jeep made perfectly for the beach. I have over 80 pictures of it that I can e-mail, and can also take pictures of any particular area if one is needed. I am so confident that this Jeep is a great deal that I don’t even have a reserve on it, so bid and be confident yourself, don't miss out. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
