This is a low mileage, 47,000 miles, VW Eurovan Winnebago camper in excellent shape!!! Like new inside and out. No winter driving. Lives in Colorado in the summer and has been garaged for the winters in St. George, UT (where it currently resides). No smoking in its history. Seats and steering wheel have been covered so fabric is near perfect. This vehicle has had its 40,000 mile full service. It has a brand new timing chain as well as gaskets, washers and seals. The timing chain was replaced because a sensor light came on and the diagnostic code could only identify it as “electrical”. We were not having any problems, but decided to make sure everything was in excellent shape before selling. The sequence of repairs in trying to solve the engine sensor problem included in order: Two new engine sensors, new fuses, new (rebuilt) alternator and finally the timing chain. The seals and gaskets were all part of the routine repair for the chain. The water system, electrical and gas systems have been gone over completely and are in excellent shape. Almost new batteries front (main) and rear (auxiliary). The exterior is perfect except for one almost imperceptible small ding in the right rear. The interior is near perfect. All utilities work well. A: As far as we know the van has never been driven during the winter. The previous owner lived in Colorado and stored it during the winter and we have garaged it in South West Utah since we have owned it. Q: Why did you replace the timing chain and seals? A: We had a warning light go on this past year. After diagnostic scans all they could determine was that it was likely to be electrical. We replaced the alternator, fuses and a couple of sensors. The light continued to go on although the vehicle ran fine. Since we were planning on selling the van we felt that we needed to resolve the issue. The mechanic said that it could be the timing chain and since they often need replacing at 60,000 miles we went for it. Replacing the timing chain requires dropping the transmission. This is an expensive repair job and since they were dropping the transmission we had all the seals and related gaskets replaced. It turned out that the timing chain had some wear, but minor. Once things we all back together the light went off and it has not come back on. The van has run perfectly. We drove it to Utah in October and cruised at 70-75 mph without any stress. Q: Why are we selling the van? A: The simple answer is that we were not using it as much as we anticipated.
