Vehicle Detail

Hello and thanks for looking. This is a 1963 Corvette Stingray that has been mostly restored over the years while being driven. I bough the car here on eBay from New Jersey and made some improvements and performed maintenance on some problem areas while I've owned it. The car is a numbers matching '63 convertible with an all fiberglass wide-body grafted into the stock fiberglass body. The white convertible top operates nicely and is in great condition. This Vette is a Driver! It is well sorted and very reliable. We bought it because it's a really cool car and a great value for what you get. We have mainly used it to cruise around to drive-ins and car meets. I didn't buy it for its history, the fact that its a numbers matching car is just a bonus for us. It does not overheat, smoke, smell, leak fluids, or really have any bad habits to speak of... It has GREAT throttle response- throttle blips during heel toe shifting or rev matching feels like a modern fuel injected engine. It always starts right up! There is a battery disconnect installed, and is kept on a battery tender in the garage. I'm amazed at how many looks the car gets while going down the road. It's bright red and pretty loud with the side pipes. I see more craned necks and vertical thumbs than when I drive the Lamborghini! People always want to stop and share their story of the "good 'ol days" when they, their neighbor, uncle, or friend used to have a cool old Stingray way back when... It's definitely a favorite at the drive-in, and almost always one of the "better" cars at the get-togethers. *Numbers matching powertrain works excellent with no significant leaks. Rebuilt 327 Small block engine runs great with lots of power, transmission shifts well, rear end hooks up as it should.* *Upgraded Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, K&N air filter, Upgraded HEI electronic ignition, new plug wires, hoses, alternator, belts, etc.* *Original interior is in above average condition. Upgraded digital radio works well, seats are comfortable, carpet good, new Corvette floor mats, window seals, etc. really show well for the car.* *Manual brakes work well, tires have plenty of life left.* *Refreshed clutch grabs as it should and is very easy to manage* *Brand new Bilstein Sport (not oe replacements) shocks transformed the old ride. It handles great!* As far as wants or needs:The steering could use an alignment. The steering wheel is slightly off center while going straight as you can see in the video. I haven't had time to tend to this. There are a few small spots in the paint where chips, flaking clear or paint show but are only noticeable under close inspection. The car was completely repainted (competently) some years ago and shines GREAT after a recent extensive polish and wax. The car is mostly restored but there are a few minor things that could still use attention like burned out dash and courtesy lights, turn signals that work but are slightly sloppy to operate, and the ammeter/battery gauge doesn't work after the alternator was replaced- things like that... I've found that this car is almost therapeutic to work on compared to my other more modern projects. I have too many other cars and now that this one is to a good stopping point I've decided to part with this one to turn my focus back to another. Please observe my outstanding feedback for selling my cars. The vehicle has been accurately described to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions please contact me prior to bidding as once your bid is placed it becomes a contract. The acceptable form of payment is CASH, or a bank transfer. I have had people want to pay me for entire cars via Paypal, and win auctions just to change their minds later. This is not normal behavior so please do not let this happen. I am looking for a smooth transaction just as you are but I do not have time to waste and am only interested in serious buyers who have cash in hand and are ready to finalize the purchase in a prompt and timely manner. I expect a $500 non-refundable deposit after the auction's end. I have sold a number of my cars online and am happy to help arrange transport for you. Enclosed transport to either coast usually runs from $700-1000 depending on carrier and timeline. Again, please assume nothing- If you have any questions please email me. I just made this ten minute video of a quick drive from a cold start. As you can see, there's nothing to it- Its a blast to drive this time machine! These photos are pretty much straight from the camera and untouched aside from some cropping and sharpening. The car is very attractive and the paint shows extremely well for being applied over 10 years ago.
