Vehicle Detail

Now we have, up for your bidding entertainment, this 1986 Ford Mustang Convertible. This vehicle can be looked upon, as being a "dual capacity" vehicle: (1) with minor work, it would quickly become a "daily driver" or (2) after an extensive restoration, the winning bidder will be getting a vehicle, that as it sets, is worthy of such an endeavor. Pros and Cons ----- The Pros: As can be seen in the under car picture, the unibody style frame is rock solid, both front and rear, no refurbishing will be necessary during any restoration project that you may have in mind. Both side rocker panels are "hole free, rust free"; the doors close just as nice and tight, as they did when it was new. As can be seen in the picture of the engine compartment, all under hood components are present. No glass will need to be replaced, as it is all present and in good shape! (Crack and chip free) The mechanism for the convertible top is functional/operational. The oil has just been changed. Vehicle was a "Florida car", which explains why the body and undercarriage is in such good shape! The Cons: Mileage on the odometer is 87,140 - but according to the vehicle history, may or may not be accurate. (I have a plausible theory.) As can be seen in one of the pictures, there is a "quarter size" rust hole, at the base of the windshield bezel, in the area of the drivers side windshield wiper arm attaching point, however this hole has no affect, nor will it ever, on the proper operation of the wipers. Why this hole developed, is a mystery to me. As can be seen in one of the pictures, the passengers side interior door panel is missing, as is the cover to the center console arm rest, exterior passenger door handle, and a part or two on the drivers side interior door panel. Vehicle is in need of a new convertible top, as it has a couple of holes/tears in it, and is "dried out"/sun faded. There is some surface rust at the bottom edge of the drivers side door. Vehicle is in need of a paint job, as the paint is faded and "flaky". Vehicle is in need of a couple of rear tires, as they are heavily weather checked. Vehicle is in need of some brake work, as they are spongy and have to be "pumped" when they are applied. The passenger side small rear window is present, (currently in the trunk), as it needs the hardware on the bottom replaced. Lastly vehicle is in need of a tune up, it starts, runs and drives, but....... I will respond to all serious or frivolous inquiries, via e-mail. Thanks for "looking", and let the bidding begin! "Going all the way now".......
