Here is a classic Series 1 Datsun 240Z in very original condition. I am believed to be the fifth owner of this car with the third owner being a vintage dealer in Michigan. It was clearly driven sparingly over the decades. It has a clean Colorado title and is ready to go. I purchased the car a little over a year ago with the intent of restoring it but no longer have the time or facilities to complete it. The body of the car is essentially rust free. The interior is in remarkably good shape. The dash has only one small cracked area over one of the gauge clusters. I have installed soundproofing, rebuilt the seats with new foam, new vinyl covers and installed new carpets. I also found a set of four NOS Koni shocks and have completed the installation on the rear but not the front. The front shocks will be included in the sale. The engine is the original unmolested inline 6 Cylinder with SU carbs. It starts easily and runs strong. The car came with the factory air conditioning setup (which was actually an aftermarket unit). It is still there but non-functional as the compressor has been removed. The compressor will be included in the sale in case you want to reinstall it. I believe in full disclosure so here are things you should know: The previous owner had a minor fender bender and had a body shop replace the right front fender, hood, and grill. The front half and doors of the car were repainted. It matches the original paint job remarkably well. There was no frame damage and the car drives and tracks straight and true.There is a small (quarter-size) area of surface rust on the drivers side rear quarter (high up) and a dime-size area on the back deck lid. The underside of the car was rustproofed somewhere along the line and that treatment has prevented any rust on the body panels to include the rocker panels. The floor boards did not fare quite as well and they have been repaired by a previous owner. The engine is original with 115K miles hence the valve guides are a little worn and the engine smokes a bit when you first start it up. It does run strong though and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Tires are only in fair condition and will need to be replaced soon. The right front turn signal lens does not match. This is a true investment opportunity. These original Series 1 240Z's are appreciating rapidly.
