Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible. Excellent original driver. This is a former Utah car with a very clean trunk, underbody and frame. When I purchased the car in March 2009, the previous owner informed me that it needed an AC compressor when it was delivered. It also needed hoses and a new expansion VIR Valve. I have the AC brackets, condenser and hose assemblies off of another ’74. The VIR valve is new. I also have enough NOS green vinyl to re-cover the front seat. The dash is cracked. The ignition has been updated to an HEI system. I do have the 400 2bbl air cleaner to convert the ignition back to a points distributor. No smog pump. The brakes, exhaust, transmission, glass and trim are all above average to excellent condition for being a driver and almost 40 years old. This is a matching numbers car. Car has just had a complete tune-up. The car also has a New AC Delco battery and 5 new Firestone tires with 1000 miles on them. This car is dependable but does have a fuel line leak. It has 77,800 actual miles on it even though the title says exempt on it. Only 4,670 convertibles were made in 1974, which is half as many as 1975. The paint is original but has had some touch up done on the lower quarter panels. This car is 98.5% rust free and not a “Rot Bucket”.
