Vehicle Detail

1976 Triumph TR6 serial number CF50742U with only 54,278 original miles. 2.5L inline 6-cylinder with 4-speed gearbox. Garage kept and well maintained. Body color: Pimento Red (Triumph Color Code 72) with Chestnut (Triumph Trim Code 63) interior. This car has been in my family since 1982. Only 1 other owner besides my family. I’m selling this baby to make room for a baby of the human persuasion. Solid car, runs great, drives and rides smoothly, with no leaks. The history of this car is as follows. Came off the British Leyland assembly line in Oct 1975 and was delivered to Phalen Motors in Fairfield, Ohio. Original owner purchased car from Phalen Motors in March 1976. Second owner, my father, purchased car in September 1982 with 49,848 miles. My father drove the car for several years before it was put into storage due to health issues. After 18 years in storage I resurrected this TR6 in 2010. The TR6 now has 54,278 original miles. Will deliver all history paperwork with vehicle. I have made many improvements and upgrades to the TR6, including; · Fluids: All fluids in the car have been flushed and replaced. · Engine: New spin-on oil filter assembly. Recent valve lash adjustment. New valve cover gasket. New oil pan gasket. · Brakes: New master cylinder, new/rebuilt wheel cylinders, new brake shoes. · Suspension: Completely new/rebuilt suspension system. New heavy duty springs (1” lower than stock), new front gas shocks, new rear gas shock conversions, new Goodparts adjustable trailing arm brackets, all original bushings replaced with new poly bushings, new vertical links, new vertical links. · Steering: New Goodparts solid aluminum steering rack mounts. · Tires: New Yokohama Avid TRZ tires on original wheels. · Exhaust: New Falcon Stainless Steel Sport Exhaust System (dual exhaust system). Sounds fantastic. · Clutch System: New clutch master cylinder. New clutch slave cylinder. New German Sach pressure plate, AP Driveline clutch disc, heavy duty German Gunst release bearing with bronze sleeve. Clutch is super smooth. Flywheel resurfaced and balanced. · Fuel System: New Facet electric fuel pump. New fuel pressure regulator. New fuel filter. New SU HS6 (Paltech) dual carburetors. New dual K&N pancake air filters. New fuel line (stainless steel hose). Fuel tank cleaned. · Ignition System: Dizzy rebuilt by Advanced Distributors (new weights and springs, new seals, re-curved). New “red” rotor and distributor cap. New Magnecor wire set. New Pertronix ignition (installed). Also have complete point breaker plate (backup). These are interchangeable. New Pertronix Flamethrower coil.· Electrical System: New 75 Amp alternator. New battery. · Cooling System: New electric cooling fan (automatic thermostat control plus manual switch in cockpit). Radiator flushed and cleaned. New thermostat. · Interior: New seat foam installed. Original leather seat covers are flawless. LED footwell lights. ZillaMat acoustic/thermal mat installed on floorboards and gearbox tunnel. ENGINE/ENGI NE COMPARTMENT: The engine is in top running condition with around 125 psi measured in all cylinders. Starts and runs perfectly with no smoke or usual noises. And with SU HS6 carbs the choke is not needed to start a cold engine. Engine compartment has original paint with no rust. Emissions components have been removed (worthless on a TR6 anyways), but I have all original equipment and will deliver with car if desired. GEARBOX: Gearbox in top working order. Gearbox was recently cleaned internally and serviced (performed when clutch was replaced in 2012). As listed above new clutch components. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk compartment has original paint with no rust. Fuel tank recently removed and cleaned with no rust. Original full-size spare tire (Redline Michelin). Original scissor jack. Cardboard trunk panel is weathered but useable. BODY: All original paint (Triumph color code 72 – Pimento Red). Fenders, doors, hood, trunk lid, rocker panels all straight. Small ding on driver’s side front quarter panel and driver’s door. A few light paint “bubble” spots on rear deck. EXTERIOR BODY PARTS: Chrome and grill are in excellent condition, top frame is excellent, front and rear lights are all very good. Convertible top is excellent with only 2 small patches on rear corners. Hardly visible and can be used as is for a long time. CHASSIS: Frame and complete chassis is excellent with no rust - only minor surface rusting in some spots. Frame is straight and true. INTERIOR: Interior is original with the exception of new seat foam, acoustic/thermal barrier on floorboards and new carpet underlayment. The floors are extremely solid originals. All gauges are original and functional. All soft dash pieces are original and in great shape with only a few minor cracks. Original wood dash and original door panels and both are in excellent condition. Seats are both in excellent condition with new seat foam installed. Original radio installed, but not wired. WHEELS/TIRES: New Yokohama Avid TRZ tires on original wheels. Wheels have been cleaned and painted. EXTRAS: Hardtop, two boot covers (Chestnut and Black), and tonneau cover. Have all original parts that removed from car (mechanical fan assembly, rear lever shocks, emissions components, rubber bumper guards). Many new extra parts including a complete set of bulbs. Vehicle sold as is with no warranty. Vehicle available for inspection upon request. Payment in full prior to pickup/shipment. Buyer responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipment but I will be glad to assist. Car is located in Houston, TX. PAYMENT: A $1,500 deposit via Paypal is required within 24 hours of auction close. The balance is due within 3 days of auction close via priority mail with a bank cashier’s check (certified from US or Canadian bank), money order or wire transfer. Payment is to be made in advance of collecting the car.
