Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevrolet Corvette. This may be the most inexpensive 1969 Big Block L71 Corvette you will ever find. This is a non matching numbers engine and is a 454. M22 4 speed transmission. It does run. It has manual steering and brakes. It has the large fuel line and the HD sway bars. L88 hood still has the holes on the inside where the 427 numbers were mounted including the airbox. The tach is the 6500 redline. 80 p.s.i. oil pressure gauge. The console faceplate is original 427/435. Radio delete. Best of all the original color is 900/Tuxedo Black. The trim tag: Trim 2C4- Standard Black Build K13- June 13 1969 Paint 900- Tuxedo Black M22- 3925661 Build is 1970 History The car was purchased in the early 1980's by the former owner. In conversation with the former owner he stated that when he bought the Corvette it was just an average used car. At the time no premium was added because of its rarity because it wasn't rare. It was a car just like any other. The car didn't have the original motor then. He always thought it was cool that it was a 427/435. It is also noted that at the time no one was making clones. He sold his mint 69 SS396 Chevelle to purchase this Corvette. It was purchased at a used car lot in Southern Ohio. The car had a rough life having been raced as it still has a fuel shut off on the back of the frame. Through the years many items were rebuilt and serviced as needed. The 454 was overhauled and has about 10K miles on it. The M22 was also overhauled. Since his ownership it was never in an accident. As far as I can tell the car has been parked since around 1998 possibly prior. He had always intended on keeping it. Things changed in his life and his family had no real interest in it. The last two pics are of the car when found. The car needs a full restoration. It does run but won't stop. The brakes have had stainless caliper inserts and will need bled and adjusted. I want to note that the hood on the inside when opened you can see the holes were the 427 numbers were patched over. Also where the airbox was mounted. Under the car the frame looks good. The former owner stated that the cage was good. The only rust that stands out is the bottom of the radiator support. It is a piece that is bolt on. May or may not be more. I have not had it on a lift for a full inspection. The piece under the radiator support bolts on and would be an easy replacement. No attempt was made to determine if there is a tank sticker. The paint is scratched and is flaking in places. Doors open and shut. Looks like the passenger door was chipped apparently something in the garage wedged between it and the fender. When pics were taken the ground was not level and the sun was out in full effect. I am no expert on Corvettes. I have had them years ago and may know more then most but again am no expert. Please ask questions and make your decision based on your own due diligence.. With the options and color this is a rare in demand Corvette. There is no better investment. It was built when the Corvette was the ultimate no BS performance car. Many of the mechanical you would need to do on a vintage Vette such as wheel bearings/suspension/cooling system have already been upgraded. Would make a fairly easy restoration. Paint and interior. Use as is and leave the engine in place. I do have a source that has a drop in 1969 COPO 427 pretty cheap considering. I am not into trades unless maybe a 55 Chevy Gasser or ? An AMX or interesting American Motors (AMC) car or parts a PLUS. I will consider a cash offer and will reserve to end the sale early if a suitable offer is accepted.
