Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1992 Toyota 4x4 extended cab truck. It has the SR-5 trim package to include power windows and locks. It has the stock CD player which honestly sounds pretty good. A quick history: I bought this truck on e-bay about six or seven years ago from someone who lived in Texas. It was obviously from "red clay" country given the amount of red dust I vacuumed out of the crevaces. Red clay aside, it had absolutely NO rust when I bought it...not a speck. Since the truck has been in Nebraska the last six or seven years or so, it now has some surface rust in spots, but nothing through and through. After I bought it, I had a four inch Pro-Comp lift put on it. While they had the front end apart for the lift, I had them put new front axles on it along with new brake pads and rotors. They professionally aligned it afterwards so there is no typical wander or "float". I also didn't like how lift kits "squat" the back end on Toyota's so I had them put different blocks on the back in addition to a Rough Country add-a-leaf. This makes the truck look really nice and level in addition to having beefier rear springs for hauling stuff. I then bought four 33 x 12.50 x 15 Pro-Comp Mud Terrain tires with Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels with wheel locks and had those put on it as well. The front tires are worn more than the back ones, but all should last quite a while longer. The paint is the stock gray with the stock Toyota graphics. The paint is fading from 20 years of sun, and the body has some dents and scratches as the photos should show clearly. It has a Class 3 hitch towing package. The rear bumper is rusting as the metal is poorer quality. It has a factory slide in bed liner, sliding rear window, extended cab and the 3.0 liter V6 engine. It has an automatic transmission. The engine runs, but rough. I took it to a Toyota dealer and got told that it was the fuel injectors. After they quoted me the price, I walked away in shock and took it to my local mechanic who said he thought it was the engine itself. Now, I don't know who was right, but it does start and drive, it just does so roughly. I drive it during the summer mostly to haul grass clippings just down the road and that is it, so I honestly don't care if it runs rough or not. The four wheel drive always shifted in and out smoothly with no problems. The reason I am selling it is because I just bought a new Dodge Ram pickup so I just don't need this truck anymore. Someone could tinker with the engine and use it as a work truck, or someone could make it a four wheel trail truck, or even paint it and have a sweet ride. Again, I just don't need it anymore as I only have driven it about 50 miles a year the last 3-4 years. I never "four wheeled" this truck, I never beat on it, it has never been in an accident, it has a clear title and I take care of my stuff. I am also honest, so it does have the 20 years of wear, and the engine is a question mark, but bid with confidence. I can deliver to within 150 miles for the price of fuel only. Anything further than that I might still be able to deliver, but arrangements would have to be made. Again, bid with confidence and thanks for looking, James V.
