A complete 1968 Mustang convertible donar car and all Shelby specific parts noted below for build up as a 1968 Shelby GT-500KR convertible. First picture is an example picture of a Red 1968 GT-500KR convertible and is NOT what this auction is for. Please read below before bidding. All other pictures are of the actual donar car which is what this auction is for, along with all the parts shown on the invoice scans for the specific Shelby parts included with this auction, which are: New Vac-u-formed fiberglass body panels include: Hood, upper nose, lower nose, letter panel, head light buckets, side scoops, tail light panel, trunk lid and quarter end caps. New Shelby specific console w/padded arm rest. New Shelby Padded roll bar assembly w/gaskets & trim panels. Other new item included in the auction are: Hood pins, pin brackets, dzus wires, pop open gas cap with emblem, "SHELBY" hood and trunk letter set, GT-500KR strip kit, 428CJ fender emblems, nose molding set w/clips, grill brackets, headlight brackets, fog lamps support bracket, fog lamp brace end brackets, black out decals (hood), extended front bumper brackets, headlight trim rings, tail light trim frames, rear tail light lens/gaskets, tail light protectors, trunk tail light wiring harness, low tension hood springs, window crank brackets & shafts, dash emblem, Cobra emblems, front side bumper brackets, upper nose to hood latch bracket and wire mesh grill. Used parts included in the auction are: Headlight buckets and Lucas Fog Lamps (not shown on invoice). New and used parts purchased in 2006 total $6,200, including the fog lamps not shown on the invoices below. Once build up is completed, minimum extra parts that could be sold to offset project cost are: Original hood, trunk lid, headlight buckets, front valence panel, bumper brackets, grill assembly, rear quarter end caps, tail light assemblies, 6 cyl engine and automatic transmission. The convertible top vinyl would be replaced during build up and currently has a tear in it, thus the plastic covering and mat laying on top to keep cats out. Vehicle is stored under car port and no rain water has entered through the tear in the top. The convertible top mechanism is complete and shows no signs of damage to any rails. Front windshield and all side glass is good. Donar car shows no signs of ever being in an accident. No evidence of any major repairs. All panels look original. Please see pic that show some rust in prone areas for old Mustangs. New metal is available for repairs at all Mustang parts houses. The vehicle was driven home in 2006, but has not been driven since. It may or may not run for pulling up on transport, so whomever transports should have a wench available just in case it is needed.
