The Buick Reatta was a "hand-made" luxurious Sports Coupe produced at the Reatta Craft Centre in Lansing, Michigan from early 1988 through 1991. Like the Cadillac Allante' It was based on a shortened and heavily modified version of the "E Body" used by the Cadillac Seville and Eldorado, along with the Olds Toronado, and of course the larger Buick Riviera with which it shared its advanced electronics and interior furnishings. The Reatta sported its own unique body style and was crafted with an attention to detail and quality and finish uncommon for a mass-produced automobile. Initially offered as a coupe, a Convertible was added for 1990. It used GM's ubiquitous 3800 V6 and sported fully independent suspension along with FWD!! During the first two years of construction the Reatta, like its Riviera stablemate, featured a touch screen computer interface called the Electronic Control Center, or ECC. The touch screen controlled the radio and climate control functions, provided diagnostic access to the vehicle's various electronic systems and sensors. It also featured a date reminder, a trip computer, and a user configurable overspeed alarm. Info above taken from Wikicars Our Gorgeous 26,000 mile Reatta offered here appears to be a one owner car, as indicated by the Clean Carfax report. I purchased it from another dealer, whom I am assuming purchased it from an estate(Just a guess!). It runs and drives just fantastic, as you would expect from a low mileage car, with all features working properly. We replaced the problemetic sunroof with a used assembly that works well, although needs a "Push" to get started. A new headliner was also installed at the same time. Also typical with Reattas are headlamp motor failures, along with ABS issues. Both have been addressed and are now functioning correctly!! It is cosmetically just gorgeous and is sure to be a hit at any Buick Gathering. I personally just did a 250 mile trip at freeway speeds and was totally impressed with the way this car runs and drives...I would drive it anywhere with utmost confidence!!! The hand built Reatta was introduced in 1988, and was drastically changed in 1990 with the elimination of the Touch Screen and the addition of an SRS Airbag,, along with an available Convertible. The rare and desired optional sunroof has just been replaced with a used unit. It works as designed, but needs a "push" to get started Both headlamp motors have been recently refurbished with new bushings. They now work great! 1989 was the last year without an SRS Airbag!
