This is a wonderful Mustang which will definitely get you many looks as you cruse around town. You may even partake in the local car shows and leave a winner. Be prepared to talk about your new car with many people who are stunned by this rare beauty. The first time I drove my 68 to town for fuel I didn’t make it back home for 4 hours. I am looking to sell the great looking car because I will be leaving the county in August to take a position with an engineering firm Leipzig, Germany. I truly thought about shipping it and driving it there. Who am I kidding, I won’t have the time to enjoy the car and I will most likely worry all the time that it will get damaged. This is a near mint car and it deserves a great home with a true Mustang enthusiast. A DESCRIPTIVE HISTORY This 68 Fastback Mustang is documented with a Marti Report. The car was originally sold on August 15, 1968 in Winter Haven, Florida. It was fully restored as a Mustang Monthly feature project car in 2001 where it graced the cover. It still looks fantastic. The color was changed from Lime Gold to Gulf-stream Aqua. Back in the day the Aqua color was very popular on Mustangs. Some nice upgrades were done during the restoration. A GT rear valance with dual exhaust tips, GT grille with driving lights, GT style steel wheels, and raised white letter tires were added. When this car first arrived at my home, I thought it was a GT. I also have replaced the air-conditioning vents, (OEM) and added a leather steering wheel rap with a matching Gulf-stream Aqua suicide nob. The Fastback body is laser straight with beautiful paint, trim, chrome, and glass. I had to replace the antenna with a factory replacement from the 60’s due to it being damaged during shipping. The car has a "Punched Hood" with appropriate turn signals and has dual black stripes and a matching GT style "C" stripe was added to the sides. Power comes from a smooth running 289 2V V8. This was an early production 68 model when the 289 was still available before giving way to the updated 302 later in the same model year. It is backed by a smooth shifting C-4 automatic transmission and comes with power front disc brakes, and factory air conditioning. The engine and trunk compartments are show quality and look original. The trunk recently had a facelift and was fitted with a new trunk mat, tire cover and tool bag, all OEM original items. The two-tone matching deluxe bucket seat interior is very nice with a very desirable folding rear seat. The carpet and all items in the interior are also free from damage, tears, etc… It also features an AM/FM radio, lamp group, carpeted Mustang logo floor mats, full console, gauge package, and full set of front & back seat belts. The chassis shows well with correct red oxide primer peeking through and aluminum exhaust. This pristine Fastback has never been “WET” and has always been garaged and covered. This is an overall high quality restoration with attention to every detail and a very nice car that anyone would be proud to own. Make it yours today.
