Vehicle Detail
For sale is a modified 1934 ford three window coupe - ALL STEEL - I acquired this car about a few years ago in Ohio - where it sat for about 30 years - Prior to that it was modified and used for drag racing in Michigan and Ohio during the 60's - at some point in the 70's someone painted it , added radiator , interior and made it street legal with lights , horn etc - It really only has the bare minimum needed to get it titled and on the road - It has a "ASSEMBLED VEHICLE" title , issued in the 70's The body is all steel - very straight and solid - Original firewall and cab floor removed and replaced to fit motor and trans farther back into center of frame - Trunk lid molded in and trunk floor removed - Original hood and grill welded together and made into a "ONE PIECE" front end -Molded door hinges and fender openings - Front brakes removed and mag wheels on original spindles - (front brakes can be added to axle , mounts are NOT modified) Rear suspension is modified to a coil spring with ladder bars and 9" rear end - All windows removed , Plexi windshield and rear window - The engine is from what I can tell a small block chevy - it has 302 and some letters stamped into the boss - I think its a probably built up to be a 302 but don't know for sure - Has a automatic 3 speed - and strange axle 9" rear end - When I got this I drained the varnish out of the tank and tried to get it going - I couldnt get the carb clean enough to run, so I bought a new Holley carb - Started right up and runs strong - I drove it about 3 miles and the Master cylinder went out , prior to that I bled the brakes and they worked fine - All the lights and radio and horn work too - Appears that the car was drivable when it was parked in the 70's - The trans oil leaked out while I had it sitting in my Garage - and the rear tires no longer hold air (they are about 50 years old and dry rotted) Its a nice old period Drag racer - In my opinion very nicely hand crafted - Car is pretty much untouched , except for carb and period CAL CUSTOM scoop - there was a "MAILBOX SCOOP" on it that was brittle plastic and broke so I pitched it so chunks wouldn't drop into carb - Paint is a metalflake Green - peeling bad on passenger door - paint on the rest of the car is not too bad - I was going to get a stock radiator , move the engine back , install a new floor ,firewall , front brakes and windows and keep the rest as you see it - Car has a lot of potential to do what ever anyone wants to - CAR IS 20 MILES SOUTH OF CHICAGO , CAN BE SEEN WITH APPOINTMENT - PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS - I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE THINGS SELLING AS IS , OF COURSE WILL NEED TO BE HAULED - ITS NOT DRIVABLE - $500 DEPOSIT INTO MY PAYPAL - REST WITH CHECK OR MONEY ORDER OR TRANSFER TO MY BANK ACCOUNT - On Mar-16-13 at 16:45:06 PDT, seller added the following information: noticed today when showing the car that the grill is original but the hood is not - it is metal, but fabricated on a tube frame , and welded to the remains of the original grill - to make the one piece front end - THANK YOU
