Vehicle Detail
1963 Studebaker wagonaire. pretty original daily driver studebaker wagonaire, with sliding roof in the rear this wagon pretty much converts to a pick up truck. or cruise with the roof open just for fun. Car has a v8 Studebaker engine, original to the car, a 2 speed automatic transmission, has been converted to disc brake in the front but otherwise all original, interior is all original, including seats that fully recline to form a full size bed, rear seat folds down to allow for plenty of cargo. glove box even has a "vanity" for the little lady to do her makeup. Studebaker was way ahead of its time on design features and this wagon has em all.. It is a driver, needs upholstery work, and the clear coat is fading off the paint . although the car was originally gold it has been repainted about 12+ years ago and is starting to show, especially the clear coat on the roof and hood flaking off. but the car is solid, looks like it had some patching on the lower rocker panels when it was repainted, and the rust around the rear hatch hinges is getting pretty bad, but all doors and windows function, and the chassis and floors are solid. roof slide mechanism and lock work fine, as do all keys, for glove box, doors, rear window winder, etc., brake cylinders in the rear, rear shoes, master cylinder, and front brake pads have been replaced recently, and the car starts up and drives fine, leaks some oil and power steering fluid, but hey its 50 yrs old! includes original manuals, factory shop manual, parts manuals, etc. The original clock is not currently working but all other lights and gauges do, as does the original am radio and speakers. car is located in san diego and currently registered non-op status with ca dmv., no back feeds on registration, and clear title in my name. my wife and I drove this car daily for 3 yrs until we just purchased a vintage toyota wagon, and has been started and only used periodically for last 3 months. will be listed locally for sale and may be removed form ebay if sold prior to auction end.On Mar-10-13 at 09:14:08 PDT, seller added the following information: It was pointed out that I incorrectly listed the engine as a 289ci V8*, it is a 259 V8 studebaker engine, and it is original to the car.
