This is one of the most admired of the sedans Ford built. This 40 started out as a rust free, no patch panel car that underwent a body off rebuild about 15 years ago. The 40 retains it's original frame and cross member (slight modification for the automatic) and has a gentleman dropped front axle with the transverse reverse eye leaf spring with disc brakes . The wheels are turned with a Vega steering box . The motor is a sweet & cool running 305 Chevrolet with a 350 turbo automatic with no known negative issues. The rear end is 3:23 ratio G.M unit with parallel leaf springs. Again , no known issues with entire drive train at this time..The motor is topped with a 600 Edelbrock carb and matching manifold. Billet aluminum valve covers with block hugger headers and chrome thru-out the engine compartment. Equipped with an electric pusher fan that can be turned on & off with a switch as well as a engine driven mechanical fan.. There is no power steering -no power brakes or power windows. Very economical street rod to drive. And this 40 is driven on a regular basis. Runs on regular fuel, not premium..The 40 has a very straight body and nice black paint. And black doesn't lie..The paint does have some blemishes, the kind you would of expect from enjoying the 40 ,No dents or dings,however it is still is very presentable. The interior is a lavender color that has no rips ,tears, stains or scuffs. A quality job that is very comfortable . With built in A/C -- IDIDIT tilt steering column--billet specialties steering wheel-- VDO gauges--billet dash knobs and electric wipers. Inplace of the cigar lighter is a port to power your GPS unit to head the 40 to your garage. Everything works as it should. This a very presentable and reasonably priced driver that would be admired and welcome at any show. The 40 rides on very good tires with polished Americans on all corners..14" in front --15" in back. The 40 sits right--looks right---runs right---and sounds right.. I think I covered it all,however If I have forgotten something I'll add it to this detailed list or perhaps in our conversation.
