Vehicle Detail
Vehicle Details Year: 1957 (Titled as a 1956) Make: Lincoln Model: Continental VIN: C56L3429 Mileage: 19,456 Transmission: Automatic Engine: 8 Cylinder, 368 L Exterior Color: Silver Interior Color: Gray/White Leather Title: Clear 1957 LINCOLN MARK II, original silver color, paint code D22 (1 repaint to original color) exterior with gray and white interior. This car had been in storage for nearly 30-years. Previously owned by the DeAmico family, apparently stored since 1981. Well documented history on Mark II Forum. Only 444 Mark II’s were built in 1957. THIS IS A SURVIVOR, IN ORIGINAL CONDITION & A GREAT HARD TO FIND COLOR COMBINATION. Over $3,700 (copy of invoice can be emailed) recently spent on brakes, fuel lines, fuel tank, carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, and oil change. Car runs and drives but will need further restoration. You had to be a ‘Who’s Who’ to qualify with Ford to buy one. In 1957, the Factory List Price was $10,000 with all the options. There was only 1 option – air conditioning This Mark II has that $1,000 option. Body, engine compartment and underside need attention and restoration. Bondo on lower body panels (see photos for details). The drivers floor pan has a repair, all other pans seem to be okay. It appears that the undercarriage has surface rust which is pealing away the undercoating. Newly rebuilt power steering, power brakes, brake booster & master cylinder, as well as carburetor has been cleaned and rebuilt. Dual exhaust system will need replacement as shown in pictures. Good glass, exterior chrome in very good condition with just some minor surface rust on rear bumper. Car does not have the correct hood ornament but I have the correct replacement and goes with the car. Interior features: Original leather interior in presentable/restorable condition, carpeting & possibly trunk carpet will need replaced. Door panels and headliner in good condition, dash pad leather at right corner needs repaired/replaced. Nice interior chrome, knobs, handles, etc., 4 way power seats in need of repair. Original wheel covers in very nice condition. A/C condition not known but all componets appear to be present. Some, but not all power windows and vent windows work. Working tach, other gauges not sure of. Original radio in dash, working condition not known. WELL DOCUMENTED 19,456 miles (Title indicates mileage as well as the good condition of the interior. There is also an old oil change sticker on the drivers door indicating date and mileage). This classic automobile will make an outstanding restoration!Low starting reserve. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and handling expenses. Please ask questions, although I know little about these cars I'm happy to try; inspections are encouraged. I have numerous other photos and happy to send those or take new ones to be emailed as requested. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. Please ask for additional pictures if needed.
