Vehicle Detail
This 1957 Chevy Convertible was purchased from the estate of a local gentleman who owned the car since the 1970's. It was stored under a tarp in one of his sheds for the past 25 years. This Chevy is basically complete but more importantly it has all of it's original convertible parts intact excluding the power top pump and cylinders and one rear passenger interior garnish molding. The original data plate on the firewall clearly shows the paint code 799 and the interior trim code 680 which is the "Rare" and "Desirable" color combinations of a Tropical Turquoise Body with a Tropical Turquoise and Ivory Vinyl Interior. As you can see by the license plate and Pa Inspection Sticker on the windshield, this car has been off of the road since 1975. I do not know if it has the original engine and can only assume it does not spin. It does have a 3 speed manual transmission with the shifter on the floor now but it was originally an automatic. The car is steerable and the rear wheels roll but the front wheels are locked up. The floor pan and frame are both shot with maybe the x-member being reusable. The convertible top frame has no rust through or rot (just some surface rust) and it does fold up and down easily and latches correctly. The power top switch is still under the dash. With the exception of the complete cowl and windshield and the rear seat convertible top areas, the rest of the sheet metal is shot. This is the ultimate donor car to be used for it's parts so you can convert a hardtop into a convertible or if you have bought one of those brand new and empty convertible body shells and are in need of these parts to complete it. Please note: the VIN Tag is still attached on the drivers door pillar as photographed. The family that I bought the car from told me that they were unable to find the title and sold it to me to be used for parts. With that understanding in mind, that is the way I bought the car and this is the way that I am selling it. I am not interested in any trades and I do not have a buy it now price. I am starting this convertible at $19.57 with no reserve. With the condition of the floor pan and frame and the fact that the front wheels are locked up, makes this project harder for normal transportion. It is going to take someone with a roll back or their personal car trailer to make this happen. I will gladly assist the winner with helping to professionally load the vehicle. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. Alternate payment methods are encouraged and gladly accepted. collectorcarsnparts4u Store
