NO RESERVE!!!! NO RESERVE!!! High Bidder Wins!! 1983 Mercedes Benz 280E (eBay did not recognize the VIN so I had to list it as a 1980, it is a 1983, first imported to US in 1986) Clean Carfax! Super Clean Car! Very Good Condition! New Tires! 24 MPG This is a very nice car, nearly perfect. No rust, no dents, no damage history. I moved to Texas in 2008 and decided to get my car dealer license because I love to buy and sell cars and motorcycles. It has always been more of a hobby than a business (thank god, or I would starve) I only buy and sell a couple cars every month and I am very picky about what I get. Read my eBay feedback and you will see that I don’t sell many cars but everyone gets a great deal. I listed this car as a private seller because I do not provide financing options as a large dealer would. I’m a one man operation. You will be very happy with this car. It is solid, drives perfect and would rate in excellent shape. If you want to know the real scoop on this model go to http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/mercedes-benz/w123/1983/page-10/ This is a review of this car by the people that own them. Make sure you scroll down to the 280E and read. It one of the only cars ever reviewed that has no negative feedback. The people that own these cars are in love with them. I am still trying to get more history on this car. It was imported to the United States in 1986. It has obviously been kept in a garage. This is the cleanest 1983 car I have seen, it could be used in a car show. The car runs very good. Plenty of power, smooth, quiet and easy to start. It runs and drives like a Mercedes should. The Air Conditioner works great! I picked my kids up from school in this car and my son’s 12 year old friend was amazed at how smooth it was. We drove over a set of rail road track and he said “wow that was amazing, I did not even feel those tracks”. When I first bought it I took it straight to my mechanic. He said that it appears to have had an engine rebuild at one time. The engine and tranny are very clean, no leaks. The fuel that was in the tank was not fresh so I drained the tank and added new fuel. I also replaced the spark plugs and had a standard tune up performed. The paint is very near perfect. There are a couple of light chips in the pain (only a couple) and I would have to point those out to you. (I have close up pictures if you wish to see them) The interior is almost perfect as well. Only the driver seat has a worn spot on the lower left area. You can see it on one of the pictures. The rest of the interior could pass as new. No rust, none! This car was meticulously cared for and is very well preserved. All of the rubber on this car (door seals, etc.) are still soft and pliable, no cracks. You just don’t see that on a 1983 car. Tires are in new condition. I ran the Carfax on this car. It has no negative history at all. Here is a copy of the report. Vehicle Information: VIN: WDB12303312112698 No accident / damage reported to CARFAX . Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road. Manufacturer Buyback or Lemon Title A DMV or a state agency marks an official document or issues a Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon title when a vehicle has been repurchased by the manufacturer. Not all states issue manufacturer buyback titles and the specific requirements for a lemon law vehicle varies by state. Odometer Check CARFAX analyzes mileage data to help identify potential: ·Rollbacks - odometer tampering to conceal a car's true mileage (i.e. Fraud or illegal activity) ·Rollovers - after reaching the maximum reading, the odometer restarts from zero (i.e. Mechanical or equipment limitation) ·Inconsistencies - conflicting mileage data means CARFAX cannot determine if it's a potential rollback (i.e. Potential human error) Manufacturer Recall Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you. Basic Warranty Most manufacturers offer a basic warranty for new vehicles. These warranties vary by manufacturer and typically last for a certain amount of time and/or a set number of miles. Not Actual Mileage Title When the seller certifies, under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading does not reflect the vehicle's actual mileage. This may occur because the odometer was tampered with, broken, or replaced. Junk Title A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage. Loss Due To Fire Title The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value. Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer. Structural Damage All levels of accidents, from minor to severe, can cause structural damage to a vehicle (i.e., damage to the frame or unibody). Airbag Deployment Occurs when the driver, passenger or side airbag has been used or deployed during a crash or other incident. If an airbag has been deployed, it must be replaced by a qualified technician. Have this car inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase. Salvage Title A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR. Total Loss An insurance or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a DMV-reported branded title, like a Salvage or Junk title. See the glossary for more information. Accident / Damage Indicator Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information. Hail Damage T The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value. Flood Damage Title States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage. Title History CARFAX guarantees the information in this section Summary Salvage | Junk | Rebuilt | Fire | Flood | Hail | Lemon Guaranteed No Problem Not Actual Mileage | Exceeds Mechanical Limits Guaranteed No Problem GUARANTEED - None of these major title problems were reported by a state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
