Vehicle Detail

I have a very nice all original 1972 base corvette. This car was first purchased at Roy Buckner Chevrolet in Bessemer, AL on 2/28/1972 where it was brought to Oak Ridge, TN and it has been a TN car since. I also have the papers of all previous owners and their bill of sales, oil changes et. I have the original window sticker and a copy of the sale reciept. I also have the original vehicle warranty folder along with the attached protect-o-plate. and the original manual plus extra sets of keys. This car came with VC6010 4- season air conditioning, VJ5020 Power Brakes, VM4020 Turbo Hydra-Matic, VN4010 Power Steering, VP custom wheel covers, VU6910 am/fm pushbutton radio, V41710 saddle vinyl interior, V98710 97-97 Ontario Orange. This car is all original but for the air filter, I have the original valve covers. This car has been is a bubble wrap for the past 22 years. The previous owner had stated that the car was in a climate control garage and had been started twice a year with fresh gas and a oil change once a year. It was brought up to temp and was on blocks where the car could be put into drive and reverse. Last year it was taken to my garage where the shocks, rotors, ss callipers, master brake cylinder, ball joints, tires, brake lines, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, cap and button, wheel bearings, new pipes and mufflers were installed, The oil and transmission pan was dropped, cleaned, new filters, rear knuckle oil was changed et. This car is road ready. I have been driving it this past year. All the gauges work but for the tack, it has just stopped. the clock works but is a little sticky. When you reset it, it keeps time for a while then needs to be reset. the original radio works but you will need new speakers. The lights and wind shield wippers and door are a bit tempermental. They work usually but there are times they won't. But when they work, they work well. The hoses will need to be changed out, Their as old as the car Everything is tight on this car and all the lines are straight. This car has never been wrecked. The interior is a 9.8 condition. the arm rest are a little worn. The carpet and floor mats are original. The door locks work great as well as the alarm and A/C. The car needs a new heater core and a repaint. The front has road chips and some of the seams where the panels have been put together are becoming noticable. Very little surface rust on the undercarrage. Over all this is a very straight car. It has been well taken care of. But for its age, its as it came off the show room floor. All the buttons and such work perfect on the inside. This is a rare find for being a TRUE all original car. Last year I scraped the driver side rear wheelwell. I had saveral est. to repaint the whole car and repair the damage, the highest cost was $5,400. and $1,200 to repair just the damage area and blend it in with ontario orange. I was talked out of doing anything to the damage area unless I planned on keeping it or handing it down to my family. Otherwise for the new buyer, I was told that they would rather see the actual damaged area to verify that it was a minor scrape and not the total rear side taken out, and that made sense to me so I left it alone. The car still looks great as it is. Half the people that look at it don't even notice it. Also the spare is missing. I have a lock for the spare but when I took the lock off the spare was missing. I also have the original chrome plate to cover the cap and wires. The front bumper and grill are in nice shape however the rear bumpers need to be re-chromed due to the exhaust swirling around it which is common. But all in all, this car is a rare find for its condition. you would not be disappointed in being the owner of a true original car down to the nuts and bolts. please feel free to ask any and all questions, This car could be driven home. I would feel comfortable in taking a road trip with this car, but anything could happen, however I feel not likely. If you wish to fly in to Knoxville, I would be happy to pick you up. Thanks for looking ,,,,,, would be happy to email you any additional photo's On Feb-03-13 at 06:50:00 PST, seller added the following information: I failed to mention The rear window is removeable and one latch is missing. They cost $45.00 to replace. if you pay the buy it now price. I'll have the latch and tac cable replaced. please feel free to ask all questions. the only dumb question is the one not asked. I also have photo's of the undercarriage and close up's of the door hinges, there is no play in the doors at all. This listing may end at any time. I described this car as best as I could, Please feel free to ask all questions. I don't believe I left anything out, This is really a nice car but it is a buy as is. Thank you for looking.
