Vehicle Detail

This 1959 Rambler is in remarkable condition. The only things that I choose to do after purchasing it was to reupholster the seats and add the stereo. I was told by the previous owner that it had been repainted sometime in the late 80s or early 90s. It looks great. There are just a few very minor blemishes that are starting to appear. Everything works except the parking brake could use some attention. I think the cable is stretched. The headliner is in decent shape. However, there is some discoloration on it. I drove this car on practically a daily basis to work and around town. When its cold outside, I let it warm up for a minute or two before taking off. It is a real attention getter. You just don't see these cars anymore. All the collectors have Chevys, Fords, etc. When I took it to a local classic car ralley it got more attention than cars worth 10 times as much. I want to be as forthcoming about this car as I can. There isn't anything that requires immediate attention. There are a few things that could be done to further improve it. These include: A little exterior touch up paint in just a few spots. The weather stripping is old around the windows and could stand to be replaced. It leaks just a little oil and smokes just briefly on start up if it has sat for awhile. I check the oil regularly and it doesn't loose even half a quart between changes so this really is more of an FYI than anything. The fuel filter should be replaced. I can't think of anything else. However, it is a 53 year old car so something could always come up. Feel free to ask any questions. On Mar-09-13 at 09:15:52 PST, seller added the following information:I have received questions as to whether there is bondo on the car. I ran a magnet around the wheel wells, rocker panels, above the lights, etc. The only places it didn't stick were small areas on the bottom front of the rear quarter panels and bottom rear of the front quarter panels. The design is concave in these areas. The magnet stuck everywhere else. The undercarriage looks okay. No rust in the trunk or floor boards. So it appears very little bondo was used.
