For sale here is my trusty and bullet-proof reliable 2003 Suzuki SV650S. It has served me well since I bought it in 2005 from a private seller in Lexington, KY. It has been an urban commuter, pleasure ride and a long-distance runner. This is a very versitile and forgiving bike that averages between 40 to 45 mpg in thick stop and go city traffic. You'll find a great online support for these bikes and a surprising amount of respect from other bikers. Those in the know really appreciate the SV. As of this writing the mileage is 22,495 miles and due to the bad weather I don't expect that to change before auction's end. It is ridden year-round and has been both garage-kept and outside depending on where I've lived over the years. It is currently garaged in our new home. There have been no electrical or mechanical modifications performed. The front brake master cylinder has been replaced once, in 2009 or 2010 I believe. The chain was replaced once as well and it is time for new tires. The brakes are good but are probably close to service time too. The speed sensor was recently replaced so the milage may be slightly incorrect. My home is less than one mile from the dealership so it's not off by much. Cosmetically I have added various bits of carbon fiber trim that the photos should describe and have replaced the bulky stock fender with an England-sourced "tail tidy" piece from EvoTech. The original fender is included. MotoSliders brand frame sliders and swingarm spools are installed. The original factory bolt is included. The windscreen and gel seat are both Suzuki pieces. The original parts are included. She's never been down (came close a time or two!) The only acutal flaw in the paint/body is a chip on the left top of the fuel tank that hopefully the photo will adequately show. If you need a better photo contact me and I'll try to get a better one. The tail section shows a minuscule amount of wear from the saddlebags and other luggage strapped down for long trips. I think the winning bidder will be quite satisfied. For a 10 year old commuter I dare say she's in fine shape! A hard cover Haynes service/repair manual is included but it was printed for the UK/Europe so the measurements are in metric. As a bonus I am also including well-worn but still useful Nelson-Rigg saddlebags with rain covers. In the photo you'll notice the hole/tear at the seam of one bag. FYI, I ALWAYS line the bags with heavy-duty plastic liners trimmed to fit and clipped together at the top because even with the rain covers in use water still gets in during heavy or lengthy rain. Basically, the covers (despite excellent condition) are basically useless! The elastic pockets hold soda/water bottles in place and there are zippered inner pockets inside for documents and such. Quick release straps and handles that velcro together make for easy take on/off and carrying around. There are shoulder straps too but I can't find them at this time. As I said earlier this is a fantastic bike. It's my first one so it's newbie-friendly. It won't run with the Gixxers nor will it cruise/tour like the Electra Glides but it seems to do everything reasonably well. A "jack of all trades." The only time it was ever "off-road" was at a 2006 rally in Sturgis, KY. (Yes...Kentucky, Western even.) I am selling her to pay off some debts and hopefully get ready for the next ride...either a H-D Super Glide or Triumph Bonnie America.
