By virtue of the fact that this bike is about 7 years old with two previous owners, there are a number of superficial scratches scattered about, the largest of which is illustrated in one of the photos, although that scratch is in the paint on the tank. During the 5+ years I have owned it, it has been garage kept and I have only put about 500 miles on it.Bluebook value is $5,100.00 The only modification to it is the carbon fiber attached to the frame and is clearly visible in the photos.The title is marked "salvage" as it was recovered from theft. The previous owner was ebay user "fferg" who also rated our transaction.The reason I am selling it is, clearly, I'm not using it much (500 miles in 5 years). After living and working over seas for many years, I thought I would be returning to the US permanently, but my plans have changed. Here's a thorough explanation.. First, the book value is $5,100.00. I listed this bike back in December before Christmas for what I thought was a reasonable price of around $4,700. I ended up with only three bidders and a max bid of $3,650.00. I don't know if my price was a little unreasonable - maybe some were put off by the scratches - or if it was merely bad timing, but THIS listing has generated a lot more interest.As time goes on, I continue to pay for the insurance on a bike I am not using, nor will I use because I am trying to sell it, and it makes no sense to keep because I plan on working over seas again in the near future. I am also currently unemployed.So to me, it makes more sense to sell for a few hundred dollars lower, have a few more grand in my pocket that will help me sleep better, than to drag this on for months until the next insurance bill comes.Hey, if paying so little for a bike like this hurts your conscience, you are more than welcome to pay me more. :-)I won't feel guilty accepting it because I know you still got a good price on a good bike.
