Vehicle Detail

A nice clean, running and driving, rust-free 1941 Packard One-Twenty...engine runs great...smokes (oil) when first started, then smoke stops, Original interior...back seat, rear door panels, and rear carpet in excellent condition. Only piping on rear seats, leather is checked but presentable. Front seat upholstery very good, no tears in seat or seat back. The base where the front seat cushion sits into is worn on the edges, material is still available and would be an easy re-upholstery job. Front carpet is worn, particularly on driver's side. The driver side armrest has some wear and seam splitting...some wear on the faux wood-graining where the the driver's arm rested on the window sill. There is a very thin piece of stainless trim that goes across the interior door panels above the armrest...this is broken off on the last four or five inches on the driver's side door panel but I have the piece. Dash and steering wheel very nice, has clock in glove box door...looks nice but does not work. Front passenger's door panel very nice, armrest also very nice. Headliner ---excellent. Lock buttons and rear seat ash tray are deteriorated. Transmission is very good....sometimes the shifter mechanism gets hung up between first and second gear (which I understand is a typical issue with old Packards), you have to open the hood and play with the mechanism to free it up. If you start out in second, you avoid the possibility of it getting hung-up. The paint was done over 15 years ago and is presentable, but could use a repaint. There are chips, a few scratches, a couple of dings (see photo of front fender passenger's side). Stainless is excellent except for the trim that goes from rear door and wraps around to the other side beneath the rear window it has been replaced with a non-original molding. Re-produced stainless is available. There are a couple of spots worn through the rubber on driver's side running board. Bumpers and bumper bars, rear luggage rack are excellent..bars re-chromed. Lights, lenses, and glass all good. Headlight bezels are excellent. turn signal chromes on front fenders are a little bumpy (not pitted) but very presentable. Hood ornament is absolutely beautiful. Does drip some oil on garage floor when parked as one would expect with a car that is over 70 years old. Car sold as is...buyer must arrange transportation and delivery of car. Buyer must pay $1,000.00 deposit within 48 hours and payment in full within 7 days or car will be re-listed. I have done my best to give an honest description of the car..please call with any questions or to arrange a look at the car 1-315-724-0242 or 607-661-6451 (cell). Low book value on this car is over $11,000.00. This is a nice example and deserving far more than low book value....anyone buying at low book value or less would be getting a real bargain! Please serious bidders only.
