Vehicle Detail
Hello and Thanks for looking! I am selling my 1968 Ford Torino GT Fastback with 302 Motor and C4 Automatic transmission. These 68's are getting very very hard to find and are rare. I personally have never seen another 1968 Torino GT Fastback in person, Only online. Car turns heads everywhere I go, even in the current state that it is in. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, UNMOLESTED KANSAS CITY CAR THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR RESTORE!!!!!!! I have owned this car since I was 11 years old. It was a father son project. Time, money and life seemed to get in the way, and the car deserves to go to someone who can give it what she deserves. Motor: Ford 302, rebuilt 3k miles ago (5 years). bored .030 over, swapped original 2bbl intake with a 1968 mustang 4bbl intake, and has OEM "Powered by Ford" valve covers. Everything else is original. Has Original rebuilt Autolite 4300 Carb. Nice Air cleaner.Clean engine. Starts everytime, runs ad idles great. Nice True dual exhaust with chrome tips. Sounds mean. Transmission: 1966 Mustang C4 automatic w/ Shift Kit. The transmission that was in the car was not original and needed rebuilt. Found a 66 C4, rebuilt it w/ nice mild shift kit. Shifts great. Rear End: Original Ford 8" with 2.80 gears limited slip. Interior: Beautiful seats. Professionally Redone front and back, no tears no cracks. Dash pad in good. No cracks, a little warping by the defrost ducts and a few waves from sun, but great for daily driver. Center console is daily driver. It bows a little bit and there are a couple cracks, but nothing major. It has been like that since we bought it. Headliner is shot, But I have a replacement one that will go witht the sale. Door panels are decent. No arm rests. Original radio still in dash, but is not hooked up. Aftermarket radion tucked inside the glovebox, so you can hide it. two 3.5" speakers under dash, two 6x9 in the back. All glass is good with no cracks except for the windsheild. It has a crack running the length of the car, but it is at the top, out of driving view. Body: Body is in decent shape. Hood, front fenders, doors, top, trunk are all RUST FREE!!!!Rear quarters (see pic) is where the rust is. It's a kansas city car.. this winter salt kills old cars. Only other rust is the driver side toe board has a small hole, and passanger side toe board and a little in the wheel well. Wouldn't be hard to fix at all. Trunk is solid, no rust around the lip like most. The driver door has been replaced with a 1969 Cobra door. Needs alligned better, but still shuts fine. I still have the original door with the dent, it has the original door plate on it. As you can see, I have primered the bottom portion of the car to try to keep the rust from getting worse on the rear. The car was originally Maroon with gold reflective GT "C" stripe. Stripe was removed before primer. I have another ORIGINAL IN BOX reflective "C" stripe kit for the car. It is gold as well. Wheels: Factory Original 14" GT wheels with GT hubcaps, Factory painted gold to match the stripe. In really nice condition. Tires are 225/70/14. Car has manual (drum) brakes all around, But is equipped with power steering. Disregard the flat tire in the pic, it is fixed. The Cons: -The transmission leaks from the filler tube. Might just need an "o" ring, But I haven't looked into it. -The power steering leaks from the ram. -Tires need replaced -Rust issue behind wheels and in toe boards -Has a slight exhaust leak at the passanger doughnut gasket. -Steering walks a little on the road, but nothing major. - Needs front shocks replaced. Overall, this is a great car for someone to finish. Reserve is set low. Like I said, these are rare and getting harder to find. Cash in person or payment full through paypal only. No exceptions. There is no warranty on this vehicle. read the description, look at the pictures and ask questions. I can take more pics and email or text them. If you have any questions, please call or text me rather than email, its just a lot easier for me. I can be reached anytime at 816-237-6424 Thanks, Danny On Feb-10-13 at 07:16:18 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE* I have added a buy it now for $5,000. I have had many questions regarding a buy it now, so there it is. Also I have had many questions about the reserve price. I have set the reserve at $4,000. I also have 2 pictures of the from about 10 years ago, before it was primered. I cant seem to upload them right now, but I can email them if you want to see them. I would rather sell this car than keep it, So happy bidding and hopefully it will go to a good home.
