Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a pretty nice Willys Jeep. Please read the whole description. Here’s what I know about the jeep: · The CJ2A body is actually on a CJ5 frame (w/ 83.5 wheelbase) · Frame is in great shape, no rust or rot issues, custom bumpers front and rear with 2” receivers · Body in great shape as well, no significant rust or rot issues. The body is 65 years old or so and it has bee patched over the years, all the patch work looks good, there are some dents and dings from being used a glorified John Deere gator · The pedal assembly is mounted under the dash vs. the original way with the pedals going through the floor with the master cylinder under your feet. This is a great upgrade, much better geometry on the clutch and the master cylinder is now on the firewall · Has factory CJ5 power steering setup which works AWESOME, it’s a huge improvement over the original crazy ross setup · Motor is a 4cyl Chevy 2.5 “Iron Duke” (common in s10’s, monzas, etc.) with a new starter, alternator, carb, and HEI style distributor, runs great, tons of power, it’s actually running in the pics · Has the factory 3 speed CJ5 manual trans and dana 20 t-case, they work well with no issues · Has new M38 multi leaf springs at all 4 corners, rides smooth · Previous owner told me he installed new 4.88 gears in the rear end with a locker, I didn’t pull the diff cover to check the ratio but there defiantly is a locker in it and works awesome · Front end seems tight, lockouts work, new (drum) brakes all around stops just fine · There is no emergency brake, obviously the original design had the brake on the dana 18 transfer case drum, there is no provision for that on the dana 20. The e-brake cables (new) off the rear backing plates are just zip tied to the frame · Has an 8,000lb winch that will pull the jeep up a tree, it also has a unique battery setup. It has dual batteries (one is a deep cycle yellow top optima) you can select between the 2 batteries or run them in parallel by the rotary switch under the dash, this way you can use the winch without the jeep running and switch over to the other one to start it · Tires are brand new · Lights work but I don’t think the gauges do · No seats! I do have some old CJ5 seats I’ll give you (there nothing special). New/Aftermarket Jeep seats are everywhere I figured the buyer could just put in what suits them best. Overall this is a great little Jeep but please keep in mind it’s a 1948 or so, so it does have it’s flaws. It’s spent the last 20 years on a farm and used during that time as a farm vehicle, therefore it does not have a title, it never has. I will provide a bill of sale for the winning bidder, I know in Massachusetts a title can be obtained by a state police inspection and a $50 fee, (I’ve done it before). The jeep will need some attention to be a daily driver but overall it’s a great Jeep and it’s hard to find them this nice.
