Vehicle Detail

1968 Mustang Ridings You are looking at a 1968 Ford Mustang convertible. The engine is a 302 V8 and runs excellent, starts quickly and makes no unusual noises nor does it smoke or run rough. The transmission shifts as it should. The body appears to be in pretty good condition and is painted a matte black and has scratches all over. The floors have been patched poorly and the apron under the battery is rusted as most are. It has new shocks, exhaust and fuel tank. Our customer has been driving it and has decided to sell it as he has different interests. The interior is all intact and appears to be original. The convertible top has been recently replaced and the convertible top frame is in very nice condition. The rear quarter windows have the usual 1st generation cantakerousness and are reluctant to work. The door glass works and rolls up and down. The windshield is in good shape. The convertible top has the folding rear glass in it. The owner was driving this car regularly during the warm months and was enjoying it. It is not a perfect car and it does need work as described above. If you have any questions, feel free to call Melvin at 845-712-5500 during normal Eastern time business hours or on Saturdays 10-3. It is available to be viewed at our facility. On Feb-04-13 at 10:49:13 PST, seller added the following information: After so many emails about the motor, we looked into it and it appears to be the original engine which is a 289 V8. The code on the block is C8AE-6015-B. That block was used exclusively for 1968 289 production only, although marked "302", it was a casting from the Windsor Ontario plant that went into use when they ran out of 289 castings late in 68 model production, and never began any 302 production as they geared up for the 351W debut.Bob Mannels book on the small block Ford covers this oddity in detail.
