Vehicle Detail
This 1970 step side underwent a frame off restoration 4 years ago. The builder was a gentleman in Georgia that built the truck for himself and spared no expense in doing so. He truly went all out on this build. A year and a half after building it he passed away and the truck sat for 2 years. It only has a little over 5000 miles on it since it was built. He put almost everything on this truck new. After purchasing it from his nephew I had the fluids changed and had the carb cleaned to be sure everything was good. The truck is powered by a crate motor from GM Performance Parts. It is a 383 stroker with aluminum heads for 425 horsepower!! That is hooked to a 700r4, which was also bought from GM Performance Parts. It is set up perfectly. It shifts firm from first to second, then the other shifts are nice and smooth. It is running a positive traction rear end. I am not sure of the gear, but I would guess it to be a 3.55 or 3.42. It runs and drives awesome! Took it on a 9 hour trip and it performed great. The interior has been all redone as well. The custom seat is a 40/20/40 split bench. The center part has a compartment under the seat and the rear folds down to give you 2 cupholders and an arm rest. The carpet is in excellent shape as is the door panels and the headliner. All of the gauges have been replaced with chevy bowtie gauges. All of them work perfect except the fuel gauge. It may have a ground issue. It works sometimes and doesn’t sometimes. It has a Lokar floor shifter as well as an IDIDIT chrome and tilt column. The Vintage Air AC unit works through the factory controls and blows cold. The kick panels are Custom Autosound with Pioneer 6.5” speakers built in. The only issue with the interior is the glove box door. The paint is peeling on the door only. The exterior is in great shape. The body is straight and the paint is slick. All of the glass is in excellent shape. It has new new rear fenders. The marker lights are shaved. The gas tank has been moved to under the bed. The bed has all new wood and strips and shows perfectly. The wheels are a brand new set of Boss 338 with 17’s in the front and 18’s in the rear. They are rolling on brand new Nitto tires. It has LED tail lights. The panel just under the tailgate is about a 2” panel. That panel has 2 small places where the paint peeled after the truck was together, with the color what it is you have to look for it to find it. This is the only problem area on the paint. There is absolutely no rust in this truck!! The underside is as clean as the top side. Again there is no rust on the underisde either. The rockers, cab corners, and floor braces are all perfect. Under the hood is super clean. There is a lot of chrome accesories. There is a double electric fan setup that works off of a thermostat. There is a new 2 speed wiper motor. There is also new 18 circuit wire harness. The truck is being sold on an open and clear Georgia title. It is being sold as is.
