Vehicle Detail
This one is a true servivor!!! Im relisting it due to nonpayment of deposit & then never showing up to get it. Dont bid unless you're going to BUY IT. Anyway, I bought this classic from its original owner in California, who bought it new off the lot in Los Angeles in 1971. Also, for those of you who don't know how to drive a standard stick-shift, this Volkswagen Bug is an auto-stick !!! No clutch is involved in shifting the gears!! VW only made a hand-full of these between the late 60's to the early 70's. They have a torque converter that's virtually indestructible! There's not an ounce of rust on this car. Floor panels are original and solid as a rock. It was garaged most of its life, having only accumulated 117k original miles when it arrived to me here in TX. Its got a little over 118k now, due to daily driving. We've replaced EVERYTHING underneath the car... including lines, hoses, ALL suspension components, and all flexible rubber, hoses, and lines on the engine with the highest quality German braided lines. The only solid rubber hose we bought is connecting the vacuum on the distributor to the carb, which I also replaced with a fresh empi. I still have the original Solex carb stored away in the trunk and it will come with the car. There was minimal body damage to the fender wells that has been repaired and primered-grey, ready for paint if you wish. Its nothing major at all, which you can see from the pictures, barely. Thanks for looking and good luck. If you are a Texas buyer, I have not given it an out-of-state inspection, hence the original 1970's California plates. I am more than confident that it will pass. If you'd like, I can go ahead and inspect it for TX if you'd like, just let me know how you prefer. Out of all the VW Bugs I've seen, this is by far the best Auto Stick Super Beetle to date!!! Good Luck.
