This particular Smart is very well equipped with ac, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, premium wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, and the rare paddle shifters on the steering column. Cosmetically, the car has two minor issues. There are some minor scratches on the passenger door and there is some stone chip damage on the hood, (both are pictured). Also if you are worried about northern cars and the rust to the underbody, these cars have a plastic pan that covers nearly all of the undercarriage keeping the salt and other contaminants out. Mechanically, this car runs flawlessly and is definitely more then capable of doing a cross country trip. The car currently has winter tires on all 4 wheels. If you live in a warmer climate and really have no use for them, I may be able to credit you a $100 so I could keep them, but let me know prior to bidding. Finally, I do drive the vehicle somewhat, so mileage may increase slightly during the auction. There are just a few things that make this car unique and one of only about 50 or so here in the United States. It is powered by a Mercedes engineered turbo diesel that is well known for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. This euro-spec version has been in production since 1998 and has been proven dependable. I can easily achieve 50 to 60 mpg and hits speeds of 75+ comfortably on the freeways. The transmission is a Tiptronic (no clutch manual), and does require shifting but there is no clutch. Also has the fully automatic selector switch but is a sequential transmission so it still feels like a manual gearbox. It also has 6 speeds instead of the 5 on the US models. Having disclosed that the car is a grey market car, please check your DMV to ensure it will title in your state. I have a clear Pennsylvania title and will pass it on to the buyer. In addition to Pennsylvania, I'm aware of these Smart cdi's in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Kentucky. If you live in a state not listed, please check with your DMV or local title office to find out the procedures for titling gray market cars in your state. Be sure to mention it already has a clear Pennsylvania title. If you happen to live in a state that does not allow for this car (like California for example), please contact me first before getting too discouraged. I have read online of certain legal ways to get this car possibly through. Also, if financing the car, ensure your lender will finance it without a "blue book" value or NADA.
