1997 Chevy 1500 4x4 with a 5.7L vortec. The engine runs and fires up great. The transmission was rebuilt about a year ago. The four wheel drive engages perfect. it has lock-outs on the front axle. The previous owner did the solid axle conversion. I believe the front end is out of a 79 Ford F150 highboy. It has six lug aluminum wheels. The four wheel drive is electronically engaged. The exterior of the truck is in good shape for the year. It has a scratch on the side of the truck you can see in the picture and the cab corners are starting to rust a litte bit. The interior is in good shape and has cruise, PW, PL and a cd player. The Tires are 44 inch gumbo mudders. They are about 40% tread. All tires hold air and do great in the mud. The only problems with this truck are:: The front axle gears dont match the rear axle gears. The four wheel drive works but on dry pavement you can tell they arent exactly the same. The fenders on the edges have been shaved to fit the 44 inch tires. The drivers door needs new pins and bushings, It sags some and you have to slam it to close it. The exhaust is straight piped and I think sounds terrible but thats up to you. The front axle conversion that was done by the previous owner needs a new steering link to tighten up the steering because it is a little loose but its fine for taking it off road. I would not drive the truck on the street due to amount of lift and the steering being loose. The truck could easily be fixed where the steering is tight and put smaller tires on it to drive it on the street. If you have any questions please message me.
