Vehicle Detail
Here I have an amazing 1967 Standard Microbus ,Still in its factory Original Paint .This bus has spent the majority of its life in the very dry part of Washington , which help preserve its super dry body and beautiful Original Paint patina . The Original Titan Red/Beige grey Paint has a priceless look in my opinion .The 1967 Bus was the last year of the split window style, and many unique one year only features that other split window buses didn't have from the factory . One of which is the factory 12 volt electrical system , 12 volt wipers in excellent working order , as well as a nice working factory radio option . The 1967 Vw bus also added a transmission that was better geared than years past . It does still have its original transmission which shifts very smooth with no noises etc . It is currently powered with an upgraded 1600cc as opposed to the original 1500cc which would have been stock in this year . The motor isn't brand new but has been disassembled ans new gaskets and seals have been installed throughout,As well as new fuel lines ,and engine seal . Has recently had a complete tune up and brand new carb installed . The transmission has recently had new axle boots installed , fluids flushed and replaced and is ready for road trips , Vw shows or just a nice trip to the coffee shop . I have replaced all the seat covers , and pads to match the factory mesh grey/ dark grey or salt and pepper as most may know it as .The bus is a non walkthru model , with all rear seats . Although this bus still retains many of its 45 year old factory interior panels ,and headliner . In my opinion are in great shape for the age. You can only expect imperfections. But as they say its only original once . A restored bus just doesn't have the character and charm of an original. Now to go over the body It still is covered in its factory 45 year old paint . And if you are a fan of a vehicle that retains its originality and well preserved nature then start hitting the place bid button . As these original buses are becoming harder and harder to find . There was a couple minor rust spots that were repaired under the cargo door .These repairs were done at a professional shop which specializes in Split window buses . The paint was professionally matched to factory and blended to perfection . The front floors are completely original and do have light rust but nothing the would be an issue . Still quite solid .It also has a new westy style roof rack that goes with the bus .So to close this out , I've owned many VW Buses and I have to say this is by far in the top few I've ever owned . It runs great ,drives great and to me the look is priceless . A bus that deserves to keep its original paint forever .As a restoration at this point would only make this well preserved gem worth less money . It has come time for me to pass it on to a new owner who can appreciate the faded paint , rock chips ,and a ding here and there . I could guarantee you will get more attention driving this beauty around than you ever gotten driving pretty much anything else . At a VW show you will be the envy of those who only wish to own a nice original paint bus ..I will say it again they are only original once ..
