1980 Mercedes-Benz 300d diesel sedan, w123. 94,xxx miles on working odometer/speedometer which we believe by the condition of the seats, pedals, carpet and drivers door panel and overall condition of the body/chasis to be absolutely true and correct. We do have some service records, but unfortunately they are not extensive (1995, 2010, 2011, 2012) which do show past mileage validating the current displayed mileage. There is also a Bosch, door mounted service sticker from 1987 which shows 19,xxx miles. Driven very sparingly and always a garage kept, non-smoking adult owned car. 2 owners and California car since new. Very rare and beautiful Pastel Beige (MB code 684) shines as new. Only a few minor scratches around the body from 33 years. No dents. We believe that all paint on this car is original, as there is no apparent evidence of repaint/repair. All panels line up properly. No rust issues on the frame, floor, wheel-wells, rockers, trunk etc. All weatherstripping is soft and supple. No water leaks in the cabin or trunk. No wind "whistle" at hiway speeds. All four doors close tightly with the signature Mercedes-Benz "thud". Runs and drives beautifully. No smoke or oil leaks. Starts right up when cold. Original non-turbocharged om617 diesel engine is healthy and does not display any signs of excessive blowby. Cruises comfortable at highway speeds. Automatic transmission shifts properly in all gears. Approx 1500 miles on brand new Falken p195/70r14 tires. Brand New Battery. Upper control arms, bushings and front shock absorbers replaced 2 years ago. Just serviced with fluid changes, new Mann filters (air, oil and both fuel filters) and new glow plugs. Valve adjustment due at next service interval. No vacuum leaks. Doors lock/unlock under vacuum pressure even after sitting for days. Original key fits door, ignition, trunk. Perfect original light brown MB tex upholstery shows virtually no signs of wear or sun damage as a merit of being garage-kept. Seat frames and cushions feel solid and both front seats adjust easily in all capacities. Carpet is as new with no wear damage or cigarette burns. Beautiful dashboard is free of cracks. Glovebox door opens and latches properly. Original Becker Gran Prix stereo. Some very slight wear on steering wheel from 95k miles of use. All wood is intact and in good order. Headliner is intact with no rips or tears. All door panels are excellent with no signs of sun damage or wear. All power windows work properly as well as power sunroof. All glass is in good order. Updated climate control servo appears to work properly, but we noticed that the heater does not get as hot as it should. All functions from climate control appear to be responsive (defrost, low fan, high fan etc). Factory air conditioning upgraded to r134a has a very slow leak. A recharge seems to hold for approximately 5 months. Trunk is clean and complete with spare tire, factory jack, lug wrench and original toolkit. Optional trunklid mounted warning-safety triangle. Clear CA title and current registration, good until July 2013. A beautifully preserved example of one of the best cars ever built. Needs very little to be perfect.
