Vehicle Detail

This is an original 1953 numbers matching truck, everything was overhauled by the busted knuckle garage a few years back, it runs and drives 100% , always gets a lot of looks and does well at local car shows. The frame is rust free; this truck is VERY RELIABLE DAILY DRIVER. On a scale of 0 to 5 it would be a 3 to 3.5 Now for the bad. It has a few small blemishes with very minor surface rust bust only when you put your nose up to it. The new ‘53 F100 was uniquely styled with a slant cab window, fat fenders and larger cab space than the F1. 1953 was also the 50th anniversary of the Ford pickup. Ford celebrated its golden anniversary with a new truck in 1953. The 1953-1956 Ford F-100 Pickup styling was clean and modern, but it had more. It looked like a truck: tough, solid, practical, and ruggedly handsome. That might explain its success when new, and also its almost cult-like following as a collector vehicle. Also helping the F-100's appeal was a well-designed cab with comfortable driving position and convenient controls. The 1954 F-100s weren't that powerful. The 101-horsepower six and 110-horsepower flathead V-8 were carried over from previous years. That changed in 1954 when the old flathead was replaced by a new overhead-valve V-8 putting out 130-horsepower. Later versions of the new V8 generated up to 176-horsepower. Power for the six also continued to rise. By 1956, the six cylinder's power was up to 137 horses. The Ford trucks that followed in 1957 were lower and more car-like. Many still prefer the truck-like 1953-1956 generation, especially to customize. This ’53 Ford F100 custom pick up has gone through an extensive older restoration to make it what you see today. . During the restoration all new glass was installed. Inside, the cloth bench looks great and shows no major wear. The carpet is new. The dash has been painted to match the rest of the truck and looks great. Gauges are original and look great. They include water temperature, volts, fuel, oil pressure and speedometer. This truck is an original find with older restoration. This truck runs and drives 100% Truck will drive anywhere Call with any questions Keith car is in Vero Beach Florida 32967 631-786-2650 On Jan-05-13 at 10:01:53 PST, seller added the following information: INCLUDED IN THE SALE ARE THE ORIGINGAL WHEELS AND TIRES AND THE ORIGINAL BUMPERS
