Vehicle Detail

This is an auction for a used Grand Marquis in poor body condition, **but still drives without problem**. It was recently wrecked and totaled (repair costs were estimated to be more than the value of the car) in a not-at-fault accident, but the insurance let me keep the car, so now I'm selling it. The title is NOT a salvage title (I have continued to drive the car since the accident with no issues.). As seen in the photos, the passenger side is pretty banged up and the doors are basically inoperable. There's duct tape at the top of the doors to keep wind/rain out. As far as I know, everything about the car regarding its operability, except the right side, is in fair to good condition. NO KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES. I had the transmission and engine inspected within the last year and a half and there were no problems I also replaced four of the ignition coils last summer, and the AC compressor a year before that. AC and heat work without a problem, although the car needs to be manually switched from heat to AC and vice versa every fall/spring because the temperature controls don't work from the dash (there's a place under the glove compartment that has to be re-set to allow for either heat or a/c). The only other issues that I can think of are that, due to the damage on the passenger side from the wreck, the body over top the front wheel was bent in, and, if a large bump is hit, sometimes the body of the car can make slight contact. This hasn't led to wear on the wheel or any other problems, but it can make for a strange noise. Also, keyless entry does not work. Interior is blue leather, and some rips in the leather upholstery (especially where driver sits, there are some pretty good size rips) as well as stains on carpet. Bottom line: The car is ugly. But it drives. So, if you just blew out the engine of your car, and you need something to get you back and forth to work for a while until you save enough for a better car, this is a good option. Again, it doesn't have any known engine or transmission issues. INTERIOR PHOTOS COMING SOON.On Jan-11-13 at 04:41:36 PST, seller added the following information: Note to bidders with feedback under 5 or with feedback score less than 90% -- Due to greater risk to sellers from non-payment (unfortunately I have had bad experience with such situations), in order to have your bid not be rejected by me after making it, you'll need to make a deposit of $100 within 2 HOURS of placing your bid, which must must be made to my paypal email address of deposits2bid@gmail.com. Otherwise, your bid WILL BE DELETED and your ability to make future bids REJECETED. This $100 deposit will be REFUNDED IN FULL in full if you don't win the auction. If you do win the auction, this $100 deposit will be applied to your final purchase price, unless you do not pay for the purchase. Then, it will be retained as liquidated damages. During the last 24 hours of the auction, no one will be able to bid on this auction who has less than 5 feedback UNLESS you have made this deposit first, so I can first approve you as a bidder. Please understand that this rule is not intended to offend anyone affected by it, and I apologize if anyone feels offended by it. However, regardless of circumstances, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you. On Jan-11-13 at 07:12:08 PST, seller added the following information: In response to all who have wanted to know-- If someone wants to make their best offer to purchase this car and end the auction early, then please send this request to me through ebay, by clicking on the "Ask a question" link, at the upper right of this listing within the "seller info" box. I'm always open to any reasonable offers. But the sale will have to go through ebay for both seller and buyer protection purposes, and to abide by ebay's rules. One more thing--This car is also for sale locally-- which would be the only other reason the auction could end early if someone buys it from me locally. Thanks.
