1961 Ford Thunderbird Convertible (Barn Find) SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE ONLY………..NO TITLE This late 1961 Thunderbird convertible is complete with a ton of cool options. The car was a barn find and has been sitting for more than 20 years. Very solid body on this Bullet Bird We had the 390 engine running in the last week. No smoke or loud noise came from the engine. The date code is (1Y) 1961 Meaning it did not come with this from the factory. In a gesture aimed at recapturing some of the style of the classic two-seater Thunderbird of the 1950s, a glassfibre rear-seat 'tonneau' cover appeared on the Thunderbird Sports Roadster for 1962 and just 1,427 of these were made. Incorporating headrests for the driver and front-seat passenger, the removable tonneau did not interfere with the operation of the convertible top. The trim on this car is from 1962.
