Age and health reasons and too many other projects like this bring this 1959 MGA up for auction of an unfinished restoration. Here is your chance to save thousands off the going rate for this type of car. When the restoration was started the car was running and the engine ran well with good oil pressure. This MGA was painted 1994 and the finish is still very shiny and smooth. It has been in storage since then. There are few places on the body where the paint has minor bubbles or blemishes. The right rear fender has a dent over the arch of the wheel. The chrome is in serviceable condition, but has minor pitting throughout with the exception of the wire wheels. The wheels were sprayed with Cosmoline and did not suffer any rust even though the car has been mostly in doors in southern California. We have removed the Cosmoline to show the overall condition of the new chrome wire wheels. The tires are Michelin XZX’s and have no miles on them. There is only four chrome wheels included. PLEASE SEE AND EXAMINE PICTURES CLOSELY. Many new parts were purchased and installed. The dash is burled walnut. We don’t know why the hand brake lever was replaced. The cable to the brakes will also have to be reworked and corrected. All brake hydraulics will have to be done along with fuel system. The chassis has the usual surface rust found on this era of vehicle. There are areas that have been affected more than others please see pictures. There are also many parts missing and what you see in the in the pictures are what is included in this sale. The car had at one time a front end collision and the only thing that shows any wrinkles is the apron just behind the grill. Fenders and nose do not show collision damage. The bumper support assemble has been replaced. The grill is new but during storage has seen a blemish on the top, the plastic on the grill slats is still on. Floor board has been replaced as well. One of the battery trays has the usual rust found on these cars but will still hold a battery. The battery cover is missing. The steering wheel in the picture is not correct and was installed solely to steer the car prior to finding the original wheel. Original wheel is not included. A top frame is included in sale that only has the bars no header bar included. Please see parts picture to see what is also included. This car comes with a clean California title. We require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hrs of winning the auction. Deposit payment forms are only bank wire transfer.
