Vehicle Detail
Well-maintained 1969 El Camino. Previous owner kept car in basically original condition. It has factory air and factory disc brakes. Previous owner: overhauled engine, re-painted (original color), installed new vinyl top and installed new interior trim components. This is a great example of the car. I had the front and rear glass re-sealed, new fuel sending unit, new brake master cylinder. I also had the following front-end work done: upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, and replaced the sway bar bushings and links. The clock and radio are not working. There may have been a small amount of body work done on the right rear quarter panel. Overall, a very presentable car. Thanks for looking. Also, some more comments responding to a number of e-mails: The engine looks like a well maintained, but old engine. Nothing fancy. I did put an Interstate battery in. Walking around the car, taking pictures: no discernible rust, but I did not get under the car. The panels all appear very sound. There are some scuffs and a scratch on the right rear quarter panel. I think the picture makes the scratch look worse than it is. As mentioned originally, I think there was work done on the right rear quarter because the side marker and rear tail light don't fit "factory tight" (see pic with my thumb in it). Or, they may not have re-attached them well after it was painted. Inside, the previous owner replaced a lot of panels. I don't know if there needs to be a vent cover or some kind of attachment, but there is a cable actuator on the drivers side that is not attached to anything. There are also slots or cut-outs in the panels on each side of the car. They may be universal panels that fit a number of applications. Also, there is a spring or clip missing behind the crank handles for the vent windows, leaving a space between them and the door panel. The previous owner also put seat belt shoulder harnesses in. I have not driven the car a lot, but as I mentioned originally, a very presentable car. Overall, I think it is a great car for the money. Thanks. Dave.
