Up for sale is a rare 1991 Toyota MR2, all factory original stock, Southern California car all its life (no rust), accident free. No modifications. ONE owner; same family owned from day one, non-smoker, very well taken care of; no racing or abusing. 10+ years of records. I am not a dealer, so there are no doc fees or other transaction fees. This remarkable car is ready for you to drive off and enjoy!! Below the pictures there is a very detailed and comprehensive description of the car. Mechanics Engine -- Starts right up. Idles smooth at the correct RPM and sounds great. No funny noises. Acceleration is smooth and swift, no hesitation. No leaking fluids of any kind. No burning oil. Records show oil changes done regularly. Transmission -- Shifts smooth and fluid between all gears, including overdrive button. Low gears 2 and L work great as well. No issues, operates like new. Transmission fluid was changed at the recommended intervals. Steering – Tight, no pulls, no vibrations, no shaking. The car drives straight as an arrow like new. Suspension – Drives great, handles well. No noises, no clunks, like new. Tires – All 4 tires excellent, with 70%+ tread left. Battery – New battery installed 3 months ago. Brakes – New brake pads and rotors installed 3 months ago. No shaking, no pulling. Like new. Timing belt -- This is a non-interference engine, there is no engine damage if the belt did ever break. The service manual states the timing belt only needs to be replaced if the car is used for towing, or in extreme weather conditions. None of this applies to this Southern California vehicle. Other belts – New alternator and drive belt installed last month.Air conditioning - Does not blow cold air, so if you want cold AC, it will need to be recharged and/or serviced. [Receipts show that the AC compressor was replaced in 2008]. Heater - The heater works great, and the fan/blower works great. All of the climate control functions and lights work perfectly.Power windows – Works great, no issues.Cruise control – Works great, no issues.Courtesy lights – Work great, no issues.Tilt Wheel – Works great, no issuesHeadlights – Pop-up headlights work great like new.Windshield wipers - Works great, no issues.4 way hazards - Works great, no issues.Exterior lights - All working, no issues.Power Antenna -- The electric motor turns on for a minute when you turn on the stereo, but it does not move the antenna. You can still move the antenna up and down manually so it not a big deal to me. Exterior Exterior panels – All panels have the original VIN stickers and/or Toyota imprint on them….. all original body panels. Guaranteed! NO accidents. Only one tiny door ding on right wheel well. The rest of the car – not one dent or door ding! Amazing! Very well taken care of and excellent condition for a 1991. Sunroof -- The sunroof works great, and it comes with the hard to find original interior sunroof sunshade, a must have. The sunroof glass has a small stress crack in the corner. It’s been that way for years, it is not broken, just a stress crack. The sunroof glass is dual glass panel, the crack is only on the outside glass. So, the crack is not visible from inside the car even without the sunshade installed. The sunroof does not leak, it is water tight. Exterior paint -- The car had been repainted at some point a long time ago. The paint is dull in some areas such as the roof, rear engine top area, rear wing, and upper areas along the sides. Some areas look less black or faded than others. I don’t see any peeling clear coat. Some areas are very glossy and shiny like the front bumper, hood, passenger side quarter panel, door and rear end. It may be possible that a professional detail shop can bring the glossy mirror back to the dull areas, by buffing and waxing. Interior The interior is in excellent condition as you can see, very well taken care of, adult owned, never abused. Plus with the Toyota high quality build, fit and finish, it is just remarkable to sit in and enjoy. Stereo – Factory original, Toyota. Upgraded hi-end anti-theft model with 6 speakers and scan song for cassettes, and electronic eject. The cassette and radio work great, the speakers sound great, and all lights and buttons work great. The CD does not work, however. It takes the CD in, display comes on, and then it ejects the CD. Glove box – Works great, like new. Floor mats – Has original OEM Toyota passenger floor mat! Driver Seat - On the bolster the fabric is worn on the left side from getting in and out of the car over the years, but the foam is solid and firm with no damage or wear. There is a small half inch tear on the bottom too, barely noticeable. The seat is solid otherwise. Passenger seat – Excellent, like new. Trunk - The car comes complete with all panels and original Toyota donut spare tire, something that usually gets lost or replaced with an aftermarket full size spare over time. Maintenance Records You get 10+ years of maintenance records and repair receipts!! This proves it is an excellent well taken care of solid car.
