Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1957 Lincoln Continental Coupe. The vehicle is driver quality. A 20 footer. The car has new brakes, rebuilt power booster, rebuilt transmission as well as recored radiator. Hoses and belts are new. The car is a good and safe driver. The wide white wall tires show almost to treadwear. The leather seats could use a good scrubbing but have no tears. The carpets are like new. All the gauges need to be replaced and the steering wheel refurbished. The paint is good and bright but needs touch up in a few places. Chrome is adequate with the exception of the rear bumper. The rear bumper is a two piece bumper and the lower half needs to be rechromed. I painted the bad spot with silver rattle can paint. It look OK at 20 feet but close inspection shows a need for attention. Most of the glass is good but some duffus has shot a nick in the windshield and one of the vent wings with a bb gun. However, the crack does not leak. The passenger side front window is cracked. All weather stripping needs to be replaced. The car has had its share of rust. The former owner repaired the rust with fiberglass patch panels. My research shows that there were just 444 of these cars produced and sold in 1957. Therefore, if taken to a car show, it will most likely be the only one there. I spoke with the owner that owned the local Lincoln dealership during the 50s. He remembered selling a Mark II to a local doctor. He said the car was delivered with an expensive shroud covering it. When delivered to the owner, there was a ceremony and "unveiling" of the car. It was the most expensive American made car at the time. When using the condition code of "Old Cars Report" I would call this car a condition 4. With new gauges and steering wheel reburb would be a solid 4+. The car will be sold "as is" no warranty is given or implied. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will help accomodate shipping. A test drive will be made available at my home if desired. I will answer any questions as soon as I see them appear. Mileage entered here is NOT accurate. The software forced me the enter a number. I have no idea what the actual mileage is. Thanks and happy bidding.
