You are bidding on probably one of the nicest original examples of a 1957 Zundapp Super Sabre 250cc motorcycle around. This was the worlds fastest standard machine in its class in 1957. It came with adjustable swingarm rear suspension, hydraulic shock absorbers, short stroke 6.5 to 1 comp. ratio, over 17 hp, approximately 80 mph, 100 watt gen, 3.oo x 18 wheels, polished alloy hubs, large brakes, dual sponge seat, western handlebars, fast throttle, and sold new for $489.00 in 1957 (see photo of original sales ad). I purchased this wonderful motorcycle about 8 months ago from a private part that has had it in dry storage for decades. When I bought it I was amazed at what nice shape it is in considering it is over 55 years old. It was missing a few parts like the side covers, ignition key, and chain guard. After searching the internet I managed to find the original chain guard, key, and one side cover. This bike is rust free except for light surface rust on the rims. It starts right up and rides great. I had the seat recovered to original specs and basically did a quick detail on the bike. The tires are new, the lights work, and overall the bike is in great condition. The only items needing attention on this bike are; it is missing several spokes on the rims, the left side cover is missing, The horn needs to be wired in to a new horn switch I installed on the handlebars.
