1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4X4 Shortbox SHOW TRUCK!!! Complete Ground Up Restoration I am selling my 1978 Ford F-150 Shortbox Ranger 4X4. I have done a complete 2 year frame-up restoration on this truck. This not your average restoration that you typically see on here. I know what I am doing and have done it right. I have either replaced or restored every part on it. It was completely disasebled and started from the frame up. I have been restoring vehicles for over 20 years and this truck has had alot of attention paid to detail. This truck was an excellent candidate for a restoration because of the rarity of it being a shortbox 4X4 with the Ranger Package and the Racetrack style trim and has been in the dry high mountain desert all it's life. There are not many of these trucks around. During the restoration, I tried to stay completely stock. All the stainless and aluminum trim is original to the truck and in very good condition. Some pieces might have a scratch here and there but overall they are very nice. Everything has been gone through. The engine is the original 400 C.I.D. 6.6 Liter. It has been rebuilt to stock specs. with the exception of the Edelbrock aluminum intake, four barrel carb., and new stainless 2 1/2" dual exhaust. It runs perfect!!! The transmission is the original C6 three speed automatic. It was rebuilt just before I purchased the truck. It shifts and downshifts like it should. The only rust was in the floorpans and over the rear wheelwells. It was all cut out and replaced with new factory metal. The body on this truck is absolutly laser straight. The paint is the original Jade Green Metalic with White insert. It was painted with Omni basecoat clearcoat and then color sanded and buffed to perfection. The underside was completely stripped and everything was repainted to match the the quality of the topside.The following is a list of the options and what has been done: Original 400 C.I.D Engine and Heads rebuilt to stock specs. New Starter New Alternator New Power Steering Pump and Hoses New Belts and Hoses New 2 1/2" Dual Exhaust Original Dual Fuel Tanks Original C6 Transmission rebuilt Original Dana 44 Front End, New Warn Hubs (Stock, changed fluid) Original Style Dual Front Shocks (Cleaned and painted) Original Front Sway Bar (Cleaned and painted) Original Tranfercase (Stock, changed fluid) Original 9" Rearend (Stock, changed fluid) New U-Joints throughout Stock Jade Green Metalic / White Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint New Original Style Seat New Carpet New Sill Plates New Petal Pads New Door Panels, Window Cranks, and Door Handles New Weatherstripping Throughout Original Seatbelts New Interior Light Body and Lense Original Stainless and Aluminum Trim New Grill Insert New Headlight Surrounds New Windshield and Wipers Original Side and Rear Glass Original Front Bumper Newer Style Rear Bumper Bed was lined for durability and color matched to the body color. Tire Size is 33 X 12.5 X 15 Wheel Size is 10 X 15 I just finished the truck and it has virtually no miles on it. I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours in this truck.
