Vehicle Detail
1979 Datsun 620 King Cab Pickup 'Lil Hustler' 39,140 actual miles Datsun type KHL620 -- factory automatic transmission truck with floor console shift. This truck resided in Kansas / the original owner owned it from 1979 until this year. We bought this truck this summer in June of 2012 and have owned it about 5 to 6 months. We've always garaged it. The truck was garaged during it's time in Kansas, too, we're told.We shipped it to Oregon from Kansas in June 2012. We have original Kansas state title (copy) from original owner husband and wife. Original owners had it titled in Kansas from 1979 through 2012. It is now located and titled in Oregon. When we bought the truck this summer it was represented to us as "pefect condition". I think the origianl sellers were a little emotional on that description.Well, I would say it's in real good condition, I would never go so far as to say something this old is in perfect condition unless it truly was. To be as up front as possible, this little pickup truck does have a few typical very minor cosmetic things going like a couple of slight/pretty hard to see door dings with no paint chipping in these few spots. The seats do have the original upholstery but they each have a few small tears in them (which are probably repairable).....hence the seat covers you see in the pictures over the factory bucket seats.............which is the way we got the truck and these seat covers seem to match and blend well. But I am a least mentioning what I know. The dash has a small crack in it near the drivers side, but no others. The dash is original and otherwise is in flawless shape. The rust factor on this truck is very very minimal that we can see, just in a few creases like where you open and shut the gate........but very minor and almost not worth mentioning. The truck's muffler could use a new "tip" on it. There is a tear in the original lining above the driver's side cab roof near the rear window. These are all things that are pretty minor and are the way we received the truck this summer. So if you want to get real picky, these are the items we're mentioning. We had the truck gone through to fix the heater blower, blinkers, lights, oil changes, fix/address anything that needed it to get the truck running and operating as nice as it looks. This 'Lil Hustler' pickup tuck is very original condition inside and out and is not restored cosmetically. The blue original floor mats are included, we forgot to pull out our back rubber mats when we took the pictures. The factory blue floor mats are in the truck and come with the truck. The black ones shown are something we laid over the blue ones to keep them from getting mucked up.The engine is the original factory engine that came with this truck and the miles are actual 39,140 miles. We spent about a thousand dollars this summer at a local car shop getting the truck running and performing well and fixing anything broken that needed fixing, large or small. The mechanics raved about this cherry little truck and it's good condition for it's age. We have only put less than about 100 miles on it so far this year since we’ve had owned it, we only drive it locally and on dry days, etc...It runs and drives very well mechanically. It gets quite a lot of smiles/thumbs up/attention wherever we take it. We’ve owned many classics over the past few decades, this truck is a time capsule in that these little Datsun King Cab 'Lil Hustler' pickup trucks in this make and model are only original once. Most have been repainted and engines replaced, etc...This one is nice and very original and is in rare good condition. We are not sure if the Panasonic radio that is in the floor shift console is the origial one that came with the truck or not. We do have the Panasonic paperwork. The radio and speakers do work just fine. We looked several years for a truck like this with the King Cab for extended leg room, but still with that 70's body style. Until this little truck, we had not found one in this condition and this one looks and sounds and runs the way it came back in 1979. It has the original factory paint, original factory decals and striping, original factory chrome front bumper and extra factory option extended chrome “rear step bumper”, has two original factory tire jack cases, one is small with Nissan Motor Company on the snapped cover and the other is a couple feet long with the original black snap case that holds it, original ignition key, original green and white owners manual and also a color dealer sales literature piece that covers the features of the King Cab. The truck has factory wheels and factory hub caps. Not sure if the tires are original, but they are in good shape and have good tread and look to be appropriate steel belted radials for this truck. This truck appears to have come with the factory ordered option: Special Value Package, which included “unique body-side and hood stripes, chrome rear bumper”. Automatic transmission was also an extra factory equipment option ordered for this truck. Paint in the truck bed is also in real good shape and is all original still. This truck does not appear to be have been used for hauling and towing things based on the nice condition of the paint in the bed of the truck which is usually one of the places that gets used scratched up and then repainted. This one has never been repainted anywhere on the truck. No hitch ball came with the truck/comes with the truck.Three speed electric wipers...factory.Utilty light inside the engine compartment...factory.It has: Cigar lighter (works), flow-through ventialation (works), heater (works), defrost (works), and it has inside hood release....factory. All gauges work the way they are supposed to. This truck comes with factory paperwork from Nissan in fall of 1978 showing this factory automatic truck gets an estimated 21 mpg. The truck's fuel tank capacity is 13.2 gallons. This truck was manufactured in 11/78. Engine capacity: 4-cylinderOHC, 1,952 cc (119.1 cu. in.) / 92 HP / 2-Liter overhead cam engine / Wheel base 1285 mm / Engine type: L20B. Semi-elliptic leaf springs in rear handle a 1,400 pound payload. I have tried my best to list at detail everything (above) that I know about this little pickup truck that will help the next buyer and the questions he or she may have.Anyone wanting to inspect it in person can do so by making an appointment. Otherwise, the truck is garaged at our home in Oregon.
