Vehicle Detail

HELLO TO ALL. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CARS, A MATCHING NUMBERS F-CODE 1969 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH GT OPTIONS IN RED WITH A 302 V8. NICE DRIVER AND VERY SHARP LOOKER READY FOR SOMEONE TO DRIVE HER OR TAKE HER UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL. My husband and I purchased it in Connecticut a couple of years ago, while down there for a vacation. We always wanted either a 69 or 70 Mustang convertible, and since prices on them have been skyrocketing, it's been difficult...if not impossible finding one priced reasonably that was reliable enough to be used daily. Once we got it back to NY, we garaged it and worked on it a little at a time, turning it into what it is today, a presentable and cool driver. It has received NEW PAINT, NEW convertible top, NEW door weatherstripping, NEW outer door handles, NEWLY refinished Magnum 500 wheels, NEW bumpers, NEWLY rebuilt carburetor, some new interior pieces and a whole lot of other things. OPTIONS: Power steering Manual drum brakes Power convertible top (disconnected) Standard bucket seat interior MATCHING NUMBERS F-CODE 302ci 2V V8 motor C4 Automatic transmission Dual exhaust 14" Magnum 500 wheels with Pony caps wearing white letter radial tires Mechanically the factory 302 V8 in it it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is a C4 automatic. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here and there for a few functions, and sometimes we take it to the Island for a cruise. Brakes work well. Steers nice and swift without too much play in the wheel. Overall very sound and reliable car that can be used daily with minor tlc. Motor is the factory F-code 302 ci 2bbl. V8 which is basically all stock except for the added export brace and monte carlo bar within the engine bay. Like I said, you could get in and drive this car, since it's one of those vehicles that doesn't like sitting for long periods of time (the more you drive it, the better it gets). Interior has presentable seats with no tears that I was able to see. Dash pad has one of those caps over the original one, which has a couple of hairline cracks. Door panels are NEW as are the armrest pads. Carpet is old but still fairly presentable. Steering wheel is in fair shape. Convertible top is 6 months old with NEW back window. NEW convertible top boot. rear side panels should be repainted. Overall a presentable driver quality interior but should be finished properly to make it justice. Underside is typical for a Mustang. Has had frame connectors added in the past for added structural rigidity. Someone patched the floorboards and torque boxes rather amateurly and undercoated the whole underside. Frame rails appear to be in decent shape overall. Shock towers seem pretty good as well. Overall typical for an older Mustang, and will need quite a bit of work to bring it up to show quality of course. THIS 69 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH GT OPTIONS IS NOT PERFECT, SO PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES, ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT IN PERSON. Paint is NEW and only a few months old. Done fairly by local shop and could have been done a lot nicer of course. Shows well and has decent shine and is overall competent for a presentable driver, but should be redone properly to bring it up to the next level. Not working: convertible top (may need new motor, disconnected now and works manually), horn, a couple of gauges not reading 100%, may need a bulb or two replaced here and there. Doors could use minor hinge adjustment on driver's side and striker adjustment on both sides as they need to be slammed to close flush. Windows all need track adjustments (they go up and down but are very stiff and a bit misaligned). Missing: small rubber moldings in front of the pillars, rear windows missing outer frames, trunk weatherstripping, spare tire. Window weatherstripping needs replacing. LOTS OF OTHER SMALL THINGS NEEDED! There are various other small issues with it, as with any other old car, and i'm not gonna sit here and list them all as it would be no point. So overall she is nowhere near perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. If you just want a NICELY PRESENTABLE DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some serious investment to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO. AT THE VERY LEAST TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THE ADDITIONAL PICTURES ON THE LINK ABOVE.
